We can get to the bashing and loving of the game later... For those who are interested, the Sigil guys are adding some cool new stuff. Take a look: http://vgplayers.station.sony.com/newsArchive.vm?id=074§ion=News

Why the hell are they spending their time making new stuff when the stuff that's there is broken? They need to fix all the problems we currently have before they even bother giving us something new. New weapons? How about Sigil optomizes their game better instead, so people can actually run their game at decent frame rates and less bugs? Thanks, but no thanks Sigil.

Oh so they are releasing content that was already made and not included in Launch to make it look like they are adding new content..
i would have rather seen 6 new spell animations and 4 new hairstyles than that crap. |

EQ2 CSR:the Bug you reported is a new game feature, and will be removed in the next patch. |

I'm sure it was stuff in the pipeline, so to speak. I figure i will keep tabs on this game and come back in a few months, but with all the bad buzz. i don't think it will ever recover. I mean bragging about how hard core this game is. Was not the best marketing strategy, Sigil could of used

New stuff for Thestra and Qalia, Kojan still sucks content wise though. Kojan was the last of the continents to be modeled, and was never properly completed. Thestra was the first completed, and already has content out the kazoo. I would hazard a guess that this stuff was in the pipeline already. If not, it is a damn shame they upgraded Thestra over Kojan, shows a misdirection in priorities.

What game are Sigil playing?
EVERYONE knows there are bugs in this game. EVERYONE has FPS issues. EVERYONE is patiently waiting for them to identify these issues and correct them. YET their efforts are concentrated on "dungeon lighting", can I say a big resounding WHAT THE FUCK??? Are they on a self destruction mission. Granted Sigil are not a part of SoE, but this is somewhat firmiliar to the attitude that SoE have had will all their rush release games. Pretend everythings OK and feed people some bait to get them to pay another $10... Patch Prioritys Order: 1. BUGS 2. FPS. 3. NEW CONTENT Get your act together Sigil... --- |

The bugs, definatly, I agree with you there.
However, they may not know how to fix the FPS... Mabey it has something to do with the world not having zones... There could be all sorts of reasons why... but yeah, fix some bugs and animations :P |

If i''m paying a monthly fee, i demand an unfinished game! |

I have to say this:
I paid the game. I'm planning to play for a while. I'm paying a monthly fee. I demand this kind of content and patches (they do kill bugs). I'm not sure that this content was in beta. I never saw those weapon skins and npcs or dungeons, lands or caves. I'm paying for it. I'm paying for a service. In the end, a good deal of people already decided that they are gonna play the game. They can deal with the bugs and they think their performance is ok. So what? My specs: core 2 duo 6300 ati x1300 agp 512mo 2g ddr 667 IDE hard drives Works well. |

I'm paying too and will keep playing for a while. I understand that modellers do not fix bugs. What I dont understand is prioritising new weapons and monsters over putting helmets in and fixing existing sub par animations.

Yaaaaay, more bugged content added to a painful, flawed, lame ass game. Shows where sigils priority's are, I can probably see the below scenario in SOE/SIGIL offices..... 1)Hmm loads of people are cancelling their subs cause the game is shit 2)I know lets release some new content to try and blind people (that probable isnt ready to release) 3)But what about fixing the game as it is first? 4)Balls to em, they are gonna pay their money anyway..... |

Originally posted by Tnice I don't really care if it was in the pipeline (which is most propably was, otherwise they have one massive development department), I like new content. I'm also not really into whether or not they fix performace as that's very much an individual problem I have found. Me and most of the people I game with upgrade their systems every 2 to 6 months so we have simply installed the game and went on playing. If you're behind the curve, you'll suffer and even though that might seem like a bad marketing plan (your game is inaccessible to some players) I don't know for sure. If you have an old computer you can still play MMOs and as you do you find out if other content is more to your liking. Vanguard has the whole "deep crafting, huge world, build a city, build a ship, conquer and become your own Faction" thing going for it in the long run which not many of the other Fantasy MMOs offer and even if some people don't like SOE, they do have a lot of money and will not go out of business tomorrow nor are they likely to scrap a game that isn't initially as successful as other games has been. Bring on the new places to visit and explore and stabilize the current content in the same pace they have done so far, then I'm pretty contend. |

Trivia question: What other game has done this? (Hint: It is abbreviated with 3 letters, rhymes with Bow and claims it has over 8 million subs)
I don't have a godly system. I run a 2ghz X2, 2gb DDR2 and a 6800 GS. Now it is a bit above the normal I admit but people here are boasting systems that kick the crap out of mine and saying it doesn't run. The difference between them and myself is that I took the time to tweak it and get it to run right. Half a second doing an internet search on vgclient.ini files would give them 12 guides on how to tweak it w/ copy and paste code. The rest is going into the game and adjusting the settings till you get a decent FPS. If you are running a 2ghz proc, 1gb ram and a 6200, No you can't play on high quality settings. However if you tweak the ini file and adjust balanced settings, you could very easily get 30-40 fps in the wild and 20+ in the cities. Come on people, either throw out your 386's and get with the times or maybe you should move on to consoles. |

And use terms like "lame ass game", "sucks", "horrible", and other meaningless (and to other people, pointless) phrases like that. Coming up with relevant argumentation will only get you to be targeted by their (granted, sad and misguided) wrath. I look forward to the post with real, useful and negative content about Vanguard. Sort of like: I do not like Vanguard since the Race and Class selection is too narrow, in game X there was more Classes and they were more different. In Vanguard Class X and Class Y only becomes different past level Z which is too late for me since I'm an Altoholic. Since I like to make new Characters all the time, the whole three spheres is not for me either. That would be meaningful to other people who like to create a lot of different Characters. Instead we get pointless posts about performance issues with THEIR system (which is then not propably detailed so again, they fail at providing substance) or the ever-popular "this game will fail". There should be posting guidelines on this website concerning valid argumentation, how to differentiate issues only concerning yourself, bland generalisation being the ammunition of the blind, and similar standard techniques used in written communication. |

Nah it's more fun to mess with them. It makes them angrier when you show proof that they are wrong or when you make their game look less then perfect. =) |
