Looks like you can already pre-order from EB games and they're saying it ships on Nov. 1.
However, I'll probably pre-order through mythic to guarantee a beta and maybe get a special subscription deal if they decide to do that for pre-orders |

Actually, scratch that. I may pre-order from EB, but I'd suggest waiting till they have the beta open so you can get a beta key and maybe a subscription deal.
It's nice to see a release date, though- even if it is subject to change. |

I just hope it gets released late in the week, like a thursday or friday so i can take a sick day or two and vent all my MMO cravings i've been bottling up inside.

Originally posted by callmetobyWell yeah, but I'd rather wait and see. Plus I'd definitely want to have a cheaper subscription fee- no one knows if they'll do that yet. Originally posted by FoxovicNov. 1 is a Thursday which is the day it ships. I have also heard it goes to retail Nov. 2 from other sources...that's Friday. |

Yes, pre-orders for CoH got beta and a 1 day head start. Mythic has talked about doing the head start, but from what they've said regarding beta so far I seriously doubt pre-order will equal a beta slot. Here's a quote from Mark Jacobs:
"I dislike beta slots for pre-ordering a game. To me, it speaks a bit of desperation by the developer (now, this is not true every time nor for every company/game). Beta slots should go to the true fans of the game (those that have been following it for a long time) assuming of course that they can meet eligibility requirements (hardware, not working for a competing game company, age, etc.)." That being said, I repeat....I seriously doubt pre-order will equal a beta slot. |

It will be an interesting opportunity to see if WAR is going to stick to its guns when it makes industry changing statements. So far, I believe them wholeheartedly. Hope this pre-order not locking in a Beta slot proves to be true (not that I wouldn't pre-order this one though I normally hate pre-orders). |

The question isnt who is going to let me; its who is going to stop me. |

I'm still not sure if I'll play on Mythic or Goa servers so no Preorder for me until I'm sure.
My ping would be better but I'm definitely not playing on european servers if they'll be far behind Mythic with patches like they are in DAoC. ![]() "It is no measure of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society." ~J. Krishnamurti |

Blah I don't like it one bit im not good at sucking up on Forums (Kissing Dev butts), hence I never get in a Beta.. Only way I get in Beta's is buying my way in like I did in COH..Looks like I will not be able to beta test another game I was following. ------------------------------ |

Originally posted by TinybinaAh yes, excellent logic. I always love when people say "If I was running the company" this is what I'd do, since it is always followed by biased, overly-opinionated reasoning, making it increasingly obvious why they don't (and most likely never will) run a successful company. Why should any company care about their fans? As long as they buy the game then who gives a shit whether they only play it for a month before they lose interest? Who cares about dedication when people have money to throw away? Oddly enough, that's basically the mindset Blizzard has used ever since WoW's launch. And they have been quite successful in terms of profit. They also provide a bland PvP experience, a generic class system and deplorable in-game support. But their marketing is out of this world. Which is why its sales are massive, but its long-term playability leaves much to be desired. Mythic, on the other hand, is a company who not only appreciates their fan base, but actually listens to what they have to say and works with them to improve the gaming experience as a whole. You only need to have played DAOC to know that much. The purpose of beta is to get feedback from those who understand the direction the game is heading in order to ensure that it will be a worthwhile product at launch. Not to dole out free play time to just any twit with the extra cash to spend. In my eyes it is much more respectable for a company to have a vision, set standards for what they want and stick to them, rather than abandon ideals for the easy payout. |

Think I am just going to pre-order at my local gameshop as soon as possible. They always have nice actions and stuff. But If Mythic comes with a special package I cancel the previous pre-order and pre-order the special package. |
