Some really interesting results on the poll here. Sorry about the Khorne sacrificial pit thing - it was the first thing to jump into my head, and well... it seemed nasty at the time. I'm amazed that so many people are going to take the risk, right at release. But then again, it is Warhammer after all - and who wouldn't want to be part of a world as rich as that? Of course, there's always the ignorant, but hopefully they'll see the light if Mythic does a good job with WAR. The thing I notice most, is that there seem to be quite a few DaOC players who have a lot of faith in Mythic as a MMORPG dev team. That has to be good news for those of us who have no experience with their games. And good news for WAR too. I really look forward to hacking all my enemies apart. It's going to be so much fun, this game. |

I'll have the game on pre-order. I'm not a this-or-nothing fan though - I'll also have pirates of the burning sea on pre-order, and maybe Gods and Heroes or AoC; all four have lots of potential, and I'm betting one of them will pan out. But, of the four, the big money is on WAR.

Company and brand-name loyalty and hatred have always struck me as strange - when I like something, I usually try to find out who the people behind it were. I believe in the judgment and creative ability of the guys behind WARs development - the company logo on their nametag is irrelevant. |

Originally posted by killerwigFor the Mythic thing in particular. I loved DAoC. Right up until ToA was released. I still think it is a top notch MMO and you can see just how much the development team at Mythic care about this game. They saw the mistake parts of ToA presented and changed it. You no longer need the item to get an artifact, just the book and encounter credit. It's much easier to get into a raid to get master levels. This is where I believe the public quest system came about we will get in WAR. It's been modified to make it easier to join, but it's the same premise. The addition of Classic servers removing ToA aspects from the game. Mythic really cares about the games they create and it shows. This is why I believe WAR will be a good game and one well worth my spending a great deal of time playing. I'm not the only one. 90% of my guild feels the same way. We are all kind of just floating right now between multiple MMOs and other games. WAR is going to bring us back to a single game and it's one we will be able to play through the end game on since we choose to stay smaller. WoW killed it for us when we hit 60. We could do the smaller instances, but MC was out because we didn't have enough. We had to join up with a couple other guilds to do MC and BWL. That situation didn't turn out well for anyone in my guild. That's why we are so looking forward to this one. We are patiently watching for the guild beta application. Soon as it's up, we plan to apply. Many of us want this to be the next big game for us and we want to do anything we can to help it reach that point. |

i will, seems to me to be the only mmo worth looking at, except AoC but i dont like the style of that one. Love the RvR idea, and DAoC sounds like it was a classic. "The new age is upon us, yet the past refuses to rest in its shallow grave." |

Google "MMORPGMaker" if you want to make your own MMORPG. |

I'm buying it. I've written off everything else being released this year, so at the very least I'll give this one a try. If I waste 50 bucks on the box, that's fine, I wont' renew my subscription, but I'm gonna be there right from the start.
I'm not even that interested in getting in the beta. Somehow being in betas kinda spoils a new game. It's better to see it all nice and shiny the first time, rather than getting in there while it's still in tatters. |

LoL
I'm buying two copies! (Seriously) I plan to be running a second comp with a support class following my main around. My reasoning isn't that its a "buff-bot" but another character i can choose to play as my main incase i find that i like it more. Or if i have a friend come by, he/she can jump right into the action without having to worry about leveling up or gearing up. |
