For my tastes in gaming I would combine Guild Wars and World of Warcraft. Why you may ask? Simple. I like the ease of play in WoW. Let's be honest, it's an easy game to learn, play, and advance in. And I like the fact that if I dont play for a couple of days, my characters get a rested bonus to experience when ever they kill a mob (monster). That's a lot of XP, especially when you are doing quests that ask you to kill "X" of "Y". Also, the instances (dungeons) can be pretty fun with a good group, especially when you are doing them for the first time. What I dont like about Wow is it seems that the devs take shortcuts. What I mean is this: I've seen the same skin (animation) for the same type of weapon/ armour/ mob get recycled dozens of times. Armour and weapons tend to look the same as you advanced they just have different stats, or a new colour scheme. This to me is lazyness on WoWs part, especially when you consider the amount of money they charge PER MONTH per account. I'm not a tech savy guy, but seriously I expect more from a company that rakes in no less than $110,000,000 ($14 x 8m subs) per month. The game I would combine with WoW would be Guild Wars. I love this game for two reasons: Free to play per month. what more can you ask for? There are plenty of games out there that charge you per month for incomplete and rehashed product. Why? Do you ever see new innovations done to the game with the money they collect? Didn't think so. Secondly, I like the skill system and the ability to combine classes. This makes the game that much more interesting to me. Haveing the ability to change your skills/ spells based on the next quest or mission you are about to do is pretty awesome. You can tailor your chartacer to meet the groups needs, I like this feature a lot, and it really makes you think about which combinations you may or may not need. And, I almost forgot about this, you can make a max level PvP character right from the start. Awesome. Unfortunately GW doesn't have the game play of WoW. It's a pretty linear game that keeps you on a path (back ground story) throughout the game. Not bad, but I really like the ability to go where ever I want to go, when I want to go. In my opinion GW is really underated game. So here it goes. I would combine the following from each game: From WoW I like the easy of gameplay, the non-linear world, fun factor. From GW I like the ability to combine classes, skills/ spells can be tailored for each encounter/ quests/ PvP, free to play per month. I'm sure there is more, but this is my brief description of what I like from each game. Too bad they can't join forces and create a superior game. *Please note: This post is not meant to bash or complain. If you have a response please try to keep it positive. This forum can suck you in to negativity pretty fast (I've fallen victim to it myself).* |

Well yea it seems so that every game has it big flaw. I dont really know why, are the devs not testing their own game ? .... sometimes I have to wonder.
Well if I could mix up some MMOs, it would be WoW + GuildWars + EQ2. Take the Spell effects and animations from EQ2. Take the graphics and PvP from GW and from WoW everything else. Oh yea and maybe throw DAoC in it for Realm vs Realm. Yea I would love to play that game ^^. |

Ideally I'd probably put the game play and options of an old text MUD (such as Avalon) with any game with decent graphics. Now that would be some game to play!

FFXI combat wich is the real reason you play a game and EQ2 because it has a complete grasp on just about everything a game should have, well besides free to play, but if you want any longevity out of a game ,your not going to get any added content without paying for it in one way or another.I would like to add a third game however it would have to meet a criteria i have not seen one single game do yet>>>>design that ruins all RMT from our games.

Awesome thread!
Lets see. I would probably choose Ultima Online, Everquest 2, CoX Ultima Online for the ultimate Sandbox game. The great freedom and just the ability to be able to do more than just fight. Everquest 2 for it's graphics ( I still think they are the best graphics out there for a MMo right now) and for the spell abilities and just mainly for the best quests in any game. And The CoX series for it's great advance character creation. Yeah, that would be the ultimate game =D 1999 - Current UO veteran |

I know... 3,, srry but none were MMOs so... Ok,, here is my perfect wish list game BattleTECH/Mechwarrior + ShadowRUN + Freelancer + Buck Rogers + Tribes/Starsiege . Ok this is what needs to be taken and modernized from each game, the items that are similar I will only mention once: BattleTECH/ MechWarrior: The player progression both as infantry and mech driver. Crafting (Modify your units, ships and mechs), Drop ships (your base of operations/player housing) Salvaging (you keep what your kill) Arena tournaments. Localized damage. ShadowRUN: Smiths (mission givers), Corps/gangs, Personal weapons/armor, Hacking and cyber run, Freelancer: Interaction based instances, skill based space fights, realistic flying, mining and fighting. The 3D system (planetary) creation, traveling and Risk V Reward security outline. Mod targeting (weapon, engines, etc…) Buck Rogers: Ship boarding, skill system, star base fighting (RVR), Mother ship/Player housing. Tribes/Starsiege: The PVP of tribes and starsiege (clan/corp warfare) but on a MMOG scale. Here is how the game would work, first off it’s a clan/corp warfare game but there would be starter corps how ever after a few months you are kicked out to merc status where you can be a freelancer or join a corp. When you log on you are activated with your corps (and freelancers if chosen) mission matching system. If you don’t have any mission offers from the matching system you run down to see a smith (Smiths are the mission givers) who will offer you a mission for any corp your sec status is positive too. Note: reputation, your sec status with the Mega corps and other skill decide everything from the pay offered for the run to what runs you get offered. Once you accept the mission a matching timer of 5-10 min starts which you can set preference to corp only, buddies or random runners. The matching system then pops up a list of players online that are actively looking for missions. You choose your team and the matcher sends a notification to all that are within the same skill lvl for the mission. The matching is based on the objective so if it calls for a snatch and grab of a prototype hand held rail gun it will look at infantry skills ignoring non-mission related skills. At the same time a notification is sent to the enemy corp (the one the mission is against) and its match maker notifies all of the players listed with them of an available defend mission. Thus two teams are selected 4 to 100 players depending on the mission. A mission instance is created and the two teams are teleported to rally points. The battle begins after the 10 min has elapsed or when both teams have acknowledged they are ready. Then it’s Tribes/Starsiege style battle. Meaning 4 square miles to move in and FP fighting but no lame bunny hopping or you will hit nothing. Also if you mortally wounded you will be teleported to a hospital but you will drop one (1) item be it credits or that new gun or even your body armor. One random item will drop so don’t carry what you can’t’ afford to loose. After the battle is won or lost all the dropped items will be listed and you will have a modified WOW style greed/need roll for them. Modified because once you win an item you can not roll till everyone else has won and if you do not have a mech you don’t need a mech PPC or if you are a mech pilot you do not need a Kevlar trench coat. Ok, anyone that plays WOW is familiar to the battleground Queue, same thin with a twist. Those not familiar, once you join the queue you do not have to stay in the area but can go do anything, once a slot opens you are notified and selecting join the battle will TP you to the instance, same thing but you would be TPed to a space craft, outside a building, to a bug hunt, well anywhere in the solar system where you will fight for the money and to improve your rank with the MEGA corps (or loose it). You would be fighting your way though a starbase one hour and could be in a mech/tank defending a base the next or in cyberspace hacking your way into a enemy corps database, just watch out for the defending players and the Black Ice. An so it begins |

1. swg(original swg). give me another game where you can spend hours in the city. every other game has no atmosphere there, its just run to city sell/repair, sprint out as fast as you can. there was so much going on in coronet, you could meet people everywhere, people just hanging out or doing various things..alot easier to meet new people. crafting system people cared about, experimenting..tailors making a living off clothes that *gasp* dont affect combat at all. 2. daoc rvr, ammount of classes and variety among them 3. some game with a killer combat system that takes skill and is entertaining. ill let you know if i ever find it |
