This may be a silly theory, but WAR was in creation along time before WoW, to put it blunt i think the comical look was not created by blizzard, but mythic. |

There's no way Mythic is able to create a WAR MMO without making it "look like double-V, O, double-V" since if they implement all their characters and keep them similar to their original look from the Tabletop games, they will indeed look like they do now.

Uhm...as some people already tried to point out: WAR- & STARcraft are rippoffs of the Warhammer and Warhammer 40K Universe. It is darn obviously, you know - except if you are an ignorant WOW fanboi. AND - by the way - the WAR Design is based on the Games Workshop designs for Warhammer...they are 24 years old by now.
Never the less, i've been playing WoW since it have released (with a years pause) and it is still the best MMO out there, but when WAR comes, im outta Azeroth right away. Mythic + Warhammer = Yammy!

Originally posted by xohox not quite, the warhammer game started was not the WAR which will come out now. The graphics were more like DAOC and one could only join the good side.orcs, chaos and dark elvs were only meant to be npc enemies. playable races were humans, halflings, half-ogres and elves ( i don´t think dwarfs were included ) i can´t remember which firm was working on it but i wasn´t mystic.the reason why it was stopped, was Games Workshop wasn´t pleased with direction it was taking and draw back the licence (at least that is one rumor i heard ). i belive WOW and the old Warhammer were to be released at the same time . imo GW wasn´t sure an online game would make enough profit and stopped producing it. and that is my big concern, that GW realised after 2 years howmuch money can be made with it and is now is producing a game which looks similar to a very popular mmog. the game isn´t released yet and nobody can say it is like blahblah .. or it isn´t like blahblah. it might look similar, but i hope that is the only thing there will be in comon

Blizzard copied GW's designs which is why they had to settle(admit guilt) a lawsuit brought forth by GW for coping their designs.

Originally posted by AdrianS That's one version. The more commonly accepted version is that climax wasn't doing what they pretended they were doing (lots of nasty little variations to the story are floating around the web), and got dropped by GW when GW discovered their duplicity. Then GW did some research and found a new developer. They offered the work that climax had done to folks at Mythic, but were refused out of hand - there was absolutely nothing that climax had produced that Mythic wanted . The current version of the warhammer mmo began from scratch in 2005. |
