I downloaded the torrents and set it to download this morning.  Not sure how well it is doing until I get home later tonight.  I agree the 9 parts thing is pretty stupid.  Doesn't give me a lot of confidence.  Hopefully the game will be worth the annoyance.

Not sure what your experience level is with downloading files off of the internet but allow me to attempt to explain to you why downloading smaller files is better than downloading 1 huge file.

The internet is an imperfect technology.  You can have the fastest connection and as far as you can see on your end it is always 100% active.  The way things work is much like a spider web.  Between your home computer and any remote computer there can be a couple to a great many other computers.  Sometimes one of those intermittent "hops" fails... a tech accidentally trips over a cord, hardware fails, any number of things can and do go wrong.  Now your connection on your side appears to stay completely connected but sometimes the path is diverted due to these issues.  Now, information that was coming across one path gets broken up as you are forced to move to an alternate path.  This can cause something known as CRC errors etc.

Now, let's say you download a 2 or 3 gb file, you go to open it and its corrupted.  Now you get to download that 2 or 3 gig file again, and again, and again until it comes through complete.  However by breaking the file into smaller parts means that if one of those files is broken you have a much smaller chunk to download again.  God forbid someone try to make things easier for some of you people.  Part of me is saying that if they had only put 1 big file up for you to download you would be whining about that as well.

wow.. your an ass. For one thing. i have a very fast connection. So id much prefer One large file that i could download quickly form multiple Sources Rather than try to get this game from a million different people in a million different ways because as i have noticed even the Official links are rather retarded. they fail using accelerators and even with out the accelerator it dies on the 96% line. and I'm not very fond of Trying to download 1/9 parts 3 hours at a time (Official link time in) Thats just stupid and in my opinion not worth it...  I am however going to try to torrent it to see if i have any better luck than with the FTP transfer. (i hate Torrenting but they leave very little choice)

And please Watch your big ass ego...

Not Everyone is Inferior to you.
Don't Try to teach me anything
for one i already know how the internet works. And on another note It was completely off topic
i was fuming about the download and in there i was asking  if anyone had a compiled EXE i could download.

Please don't bother replying.
i would like help.
not to be shot down.

unlike some.. (cough)
i don't have to make people look stupid to make myself look smart.

Again if anyone has a compiled Client they would like to Share. Please do

Yeah that guy is a jerk.  I would have liked one large file as well.  I've downloaded 1GB+ files many times without problems.

Well honestly, if you have such a high speed connection it matters not if you are downloading a single file from a single source or multiple files at the same time. -_-

Im almost done with the client, left 3 torrents up, went out and stuff, got home the next day...done. Put up 3 more, at night they were done s well.
So uh, just start downloading everything at the same time and do something else.

The only thing that I do agree is that they COULD make we click less times...1 file = 1/9 the clicking we need to do now.
But eh, if you are that lazy you really should not be in the CB

But as explained, they split up the file for a reason.
