Hello, I have some detailed questions. Hopefully someone who has invested some time playing can answer: 1. Is this a strictly level based character progression system? Can you customize your character using skill points at all? 2. What is the penalty for death? 3. Do items depreciate? Do they need to be repaired? Do items ever leave the game? 4. On the PvP server, what is the reward for killing another player? Can you take any of their items? What does it cost the other player when they die? 5. Can a caster wear armor? 6. Can a given character ever change his character class? 7. Are caster abilities on the PvP server the same as caster abilities on the non PvP server? 8. Are there zones in the game? 9. On the PvP server, are some zones considered "safe zones"? 10. Does faction work as it did in EQ? Thanks. |

Well I can certainly try and answer some. Anything I miss I'm sure someone else will have some info! So I've just answered the ones I know (or think I do! LOL)
1. Is this a strictly level based character progression system? Can you customize your character using skill points at all? There is levels within the game, but you also earn Attribution points. I believe it's level 9 you start earning them. You can use these to bump up some some your attributes, but you can refund the points and put them somewhere else if you want too. So what you choose the first time, you don't have to stick with if you don't want. 2. What is the penalty for death? No penalty until Level 7 and you will spawn at an alter when you die.. After that period when you die, either wait for someone to rez you, or you spawn yourself at an Alter. If you go to an Alter, you leave behind a gravestone and get some experience loss. You can run to your grave and reduce your loss, or just work it off. You an also have your body/remains summoned to the alter, without running to get them. But this costs coin and I don't think it's cheap. 4. On the PvP server, what is the reward for killing another player? Can you take any of their items? What does it cost the other player when they die? I believe it's...*tries to remember right*...no items but 15% of your coin.. 7. Are caster abilities on the PvP server the same as caster abilities on the non PvP server? I believe so, yes 8. Are there zones in the game? No zones...seamless world

1. Is this a strictly level based character progression system? Can you customize your character using skill points at all?
You start earning attribute (str, dex, etc) points at level 10 and every level thereafter. Every Race and Class has different beginning abilities. 2. What is the penalty for death? Thradia covered it all. 3. Do items depreciate? Do they need to be repaired? Do items ever leave the game? Yes, through battle there is a chance that items will slowly deteriorate. Through death items will incur a penalty as well. You can repair them at any General Goods vendor and if their durability becomes 0% then they become unusuable, but do not get destroyed. 4. On the PvP server, what is the reward for killing another player? Can you take any of their items? What does it cost the other player when they die? They are active, but the rule-sets are still being tweaked. From www.silkyvenom.com FAQ: In Development Post Launch: • Expansion of point system (rewards and other benefits) • Item loot FFA functionality (possible full loot) 5. Can a caster wear armor? Depends on the caster class. Everyone can fill every inventory slot if they find the right gear though. If you mean heavy armor than most likely not. My Paladin for instance can only wear Medium and Heavy armor, thankfully. 6. Can a given character ever change his character class? No. You can reset a certain amount of attribute points, and you don't have to choose your crafting and harvesting skills right away, but you can NEVER change a character class without creating a new character. 7. Are caster abilities on the PvP server the same as caster abilities on the non PvP server? Yes. Right now at least. Certain exceptions of course like AoE spells affecting people close to you instead of not. 8. Are there zones in the game? Technically, no. They call it chunks, but they are essentially zones. They can crash and load on their own without affecting other areas. Your computer only loads one at a time although you can see adjacent chunks and for miles and miles. Basically, if you see that mountain, you can climb it, but your character will jitter for a second while the next chunk loads as you run towards it. 9. On the PvP server, are some zones considered "safe zones"? Depends who's your friend and who isn't =P. There's both a FFA PvP server and a Team PvP server. There are currently no safe areas aside from your allies protecting you. Oh, that and you can't PvP until level 5 I believe. 10. Does faction work as it did in EQ? Yes, very similar, except that you can see your exact faction number. Same with conning creatures and such. Hope that all helps. "I am a biotic god! I think things... and they happen!"
