Reasons why no=one plays............

1- Immense Lag / Rubberbanding

2-Repetative gameplay - just a big casino - not a mmorpg

3- Expensive for no little return

4- Abysmal Customer Support / Relations

5- Scammers tolerated by / unpunished by MA

6- Constant changes in gameplay making it impossible to progress

7- Crap Mob AI

8- No skill involvement - just how much overpriced shit (equipment) you have

9- Instant bans for little to no reason - (search EF for Alphageek) - (EF= Entropia Forum)

10- To much PR Hype - no added content / gameplay

11- Way better entertainment out there with better erm............... everything

You are right, I enjoy the social aspect of EU more than anything else, although I do hunt and mine on occassion. The skill nerfing does not affect me that much because I don't worry aboput my skill level, believe it or not. I think the reason I like EU so much is because I do know what MA want from me. I pay per month what any other MMORPG charges and leave it at that. I can enjoy EU without worrying about getting my money back or making a profit. I play for entertainment. Its all about how you play the game, and it is definately not for everyone.

I was reading about EU/PE that this "is not a game" so I thought to myself I will deposit more than a casual game so I will have more fun . For a while I had more fun and the money I spent justified the deposits I did but from the moment PE (Project Entropia) changed into EU (Entropia Universe) was no longer fun for the money I deposited.

I didn't join PE/EU to "find love" or "make frieds only" , I joined this game to have good time together with my irl friends I already had , so they told me about this "great game" . So now we all 4 sold out because EU now became : the most expensive chat room in the whole universe

I see your point and agree with you

However all i am trying here it is to inform new ppl what they will find inside EU game , from a player perspective beside the agressive PR done by MindArk.

Now picture this scenario:

in the real world you would like to own an apartment with balcony and a nice view. You find it, finaly, the rent it is a little more expensive than other apartments without balcony and not so nice view like this one you just found. So you decide to buy it, invest money to renovate and decorate it  and after one year the land lord show up on you door to inform  you can no longer have this great view because he decided to build ,let's say , another block house. So all your nice view vanish, now all you will see from your balcony will be just a building . Now i have a question for you:

Q. Is this the reason why you decided to move in this apartment, one year ago?

 To see a boring building and pay same high price like any other aparment without balcony with bioring view ?

Most other MMO's you are gonna play will have a montly fee anyways, so technically you are pumping money into them to be able to play the game... Theoretically if you are lucky in Entropia Universe you can make alot of money on very little investment, and i wont lie to you.. It is liek a casino in alot of ways, but you dont just lose or win...  On 15-20 dollars a month if you are efficient you can easily play Entropia... There are also other ways to make money in the game.   It is a real money economy and so therefore it is a buyers market.  Alot of players have made a fair bit of money buying and selling items in the game...  I myself have played a fair amount in Entropia, and i can honestly say i have made a ton more money than i ever invested by just holding onto items and by hunting and mining efficiently.  I have played several other MMO's including Everquest, SWG, and open beta of WOW, and in my opinion Entropia has the closest tight knit community (playerbase) out of any of those...  People are generally very respectfull of each other in the game, and there are many great fansites.  At least give it a try, there is no initial cost!

it USED to be like a casino I can remember getting at least 1 small global every few day, that is now completely gone. You may have a 1 in a billion change of getting anything now. They have gotten just plain greedy...

My personal experience with this game was fairly good, though I ended up spending way too much money on it... (roughly 200 us dollars, which to some people may not sound like a lot, but is more then I could really afford.. anyhow) ...  I didn't mind spending the money initially, but considering what I got in return I personally think it was too much to make this "game" worth my while... it is possible to play completely for free if you're willing to spend literally days sweating, it wouldn't be so bad if the items didn't deteriorate at the rate they do and you then have to pay pretty steep prices for the repairs.

the graphics weren't unreasonable, have seen better, have definately seen much much worse... didn't have much trouble with lag, but haven't played in about a year and half... I'm sure there are some people that are able to make a profit of the game, but that will require a huge investment to get to a level where you're able to deal with the beasties that drop the good stuff (investment of either time or money or some combination of the two)

All in all it wasn't for me, but I didn't think it was quite as bad as some of the people in this thread have been trying to paint it of as, just don't expect to make a lot of money off of the game and take things in stride.

And the worst thing is that Mindark has no respect for the players, they respect only the players money.


I´m not sure what you meant about that car you bought thing or your pin point calculation on how much you can lose or profit , so here is another way to look at it .

Entropia Universe is for free,free to download no subscription´s .

I pay $12 a month for my account with WoW so lets say I play with $12 in EU.

Now with this money I can hunt ,mine or craft, now I´m not hunting biggest mobs or crafting for big bucks or with the best items in the start of the game , but when I do these things I get SKILLS and have FUN in the community

Now as time goes on I´m playing the game and getting more skills in the process just like in WoW or EvE  ,and in turn I level up and improve to higher levels and unlock new abilities.

Maybe I play for a year or two and at the end of that period my character has collected SKILLS  which I can take out of my character and sell in the in game auction and the money I get for them I can take out of EU back into my pocket.

Now my point is ,there are not a lot of games that you pay subscription to that will give you some of your money back.

Keep in mind you might get lucky over that period you play and make a profit.

This is a good game if you play smart with your money and don´t run before you can walk ,part of the game is finding the right information to improve your game play this info you can get on many sites and forums or join a  society .

p.s If WoW offered me some money back I would´nt take it,its totally worth it;)
