This is something my fellow roleplayers might be interested in It is based on my experience on new opened European roleplay realm "The Sha'tar" Something very strange is happening there. Perhaps it is the coming of expanison , maybe it is just because Shatar is brand new roleplay server ... but the place is simply booming with roleplayers. I never seen such thing in any other MMO , least of all WoW But amount of roleplayers roaming Sha'tar is amazing ... i had hard time going about my quests, every two minutes i was stopped to roleplay. In WoW !! This might be a passing thing, a flawor of the month , or whatever it is..i am enjoying it greatly ... Roleplaying servers are for people who think saying thy constantly is roleplaying.

They have huge events, respectful communities (usually), I'd probably never level a character to max on a roleplaying server, because well. Thats just not me, or the other 50%+ of gamers. Roleplaying is about more than typing different, you actually try to BE the character, not just play it. Guild events, guild wars, mini-storylines, all that stuff. A guy I used to work with Roleplayed in FFXI with his guild, and they had a little story/event that went on for over 4 months straight, he said one of them recorded all their events in fraps, and it was around 20 hours long. You have to make Roleplaying, the game isnt going to do it for you, so it is one of the last things out there that isnt "hold my hand" style. "There's no star system Slave I can't reach, and there's no planet I can't find. There's nowhere in the Galaxy for you to run. Might as well give up now." |

I played on the European Roleplaying realms for a while, just to try out roleplaying. It was pretty good, most people were actually into roleplaying, say, about 3/4th of the people I met.

Rattrap, I have nothing against you, but you should know making any topic that has the word WoW or Warcraft in it is only going to attract unintelligent trolls.
