You can create your character now for the eu server. If you want to create your charater now for the eu server join a different server. Once you have finished designing you charater save the template. This will allow you to get into the game once its up.

I have a another theory: The Amsterdam people mixed up the the time zones GMT/PST/ETC, so they started the servers in the middle of the night (EU), thinking the US time was EU time and since no1 logged on, they figured "shit, no1 wants to play, we just shut down the whole operation"......
