Hello, I've been reading about this game and wondered if anyone has any idea of start up / play costs. Also any other information about the game as it stands at this time.

Thankyou in advance for any information.

You get some sesterces when buying the game. So basically there's no extra costs. And you don't have to buy sesterces anyway, but it is convenient and the game can't support an infinite amount of "free-loaders".

So there's nothing to worry about, you'll have some money to start off with, I recommend you spend it wisely (don't buy weapons and stuff from npc merchants if you can buy them from players/player merchants).

A little less than $40 U.S. to purchase and download the game.  No money required after that.  Players are able to survive in game without purchasing any more currency but it can limit them.  You might want to purchase about $10 worth of in game currency per month to help with rent on any house, hut, or workshop, on food (diet is in now so the food industry is starting to kick in), weapons, costs for hired laborers, merchants, etc.  A little cash makes life easier in game.

To add, no you don't need to pay every time you want to download it if you deleted it or w/e. For some reason ppl seem to think you do.

Please don't make the mistake of thinking that you need to buy money or you'll be crippled forever.  There are some no-monthly-fee games where you theoretically don't have to pay money, but you are limited and completely screwed if you don't invest real amounts regularly.  Roma Victor isn't one of those.  If you want top of the line gear from day 1, then sure, you'll need to buy some ingame money.  There are mulitple ways to make enough money to sustain yourself though, and you can make enough money to outfit yourself however you please just from doing contract work for other players.

A small infusion of purchased money from time to time can make your game easier (buy something instantly rather than working for it) but for people with limited or no income, there is just as much chance to prosper as someone who purchases ingame money regularly.

Thanks for your comments and information, sounds pretty reasonable from your accounts. I just like the sound of this game and don't mind depositing etc,  but wanted to know rough costs so to know whether to try it or not. Sounds cool - thanks again.

About the money thing, RIGHT NOW its not hard to make the items or get the items, without putting real money into the game after you paid for the game HOWEVER, expect this to change over time.

The game wasnt made for the normal person to just get in and make lots of money, or go months without putting real money into the game.
This game as the Dev's see it is to make the normal person pay a little here and there over the month to get thier monthly fees. While the hardcore people will beable to make in game money by putting a lot of time into doing money making things.
Then you will have the people that just want to get into the game and buy with real money anything they would need and never worry about doing any type of money making in the game.

Right now is going to be different then how its supposed to be later.

Having said all that doesnt mean you will HAVE to put in real money after paying for the game, just says that if you dont want to spend a good amount of time crafting or doing other money making things in game, you can expect to pay a little bit here and there to keep funding your gaming habits. When I say a little I mean like 5 to 10$ a month.

Well..i was GOING to ask if anyone didn't want to play so I had a chance to test it before buying my own..but that might get me banned. It just looks so good but i'm not sure which side to trust so I wanted to try it for myself.
