I logged last night onto Burning Crusade, and had an ironic experience. My WoW server (Maelstrom) clearly can’t handle the BC load. It was slow and unresponsive which made combat a little frustrating. Plus the servers crashed literally every 15 minutes or so for about 3 hours straight. Note: that is not an exaggeration.

It literally got so bad at one point that my friends and I all just quit the game. Ironically, I logged onto Vanguard because the servers were MORE stable . . .

This is not intended as a dig on WoW (I love that game)  but it does put the Vanguard performance issues into some perspective.

WoW has always had bad server performance on their high load servers. Instead of upgrading the hardware, they mad enew servers with new hardware and cahrged fees to transfer. Was one of my major beefs with them, and they were getting some heat from it publicly.

Im not here to slam wow, its not for me but I understand others like it. However their server performance for the # of users they have does need some work.

We could try having 10000+ people logging into Vanguards server and see how well it holds up.

I have a feeling it would have the same issues.

Right....you would be in queue until next May if WoW let that many players on one server.

Not to flame but about 1 week ago my whole guild moved from Draka to Arygo's server do to the over population and 1000 queue time. Cost us not 1 cent and all characters were moved and playing on the new server within 20 mins.

"Why follow, when you can lead..."

The older servers have some serious issues with lag and que times. To Blizz's credit, they have created new servers, using new hardware, AND allowed free transfers to those new servers. My suggestion: grab your guild, friends, whatever, and transfer. You wont be disapointed and BC will be yours to explore without lag, que times, etc...

good to know they finally started free server transfers. But arent they to specific 2 or 3?

I know back this summer there was alot of complaining as you could only transfer to one server, not  to the entire set of new ones and due to that they kept turning the transfers off and on
