It is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game (as far as what i'm concerend lol). some examples are: Ragnarok, Biosfear, Everquest, Lineage2 and many many more. The idea of a MMORPG is basically that the game is available and meant for a wide player group with an interest in RPG games (jee who could have guessed this lol). You'll mostly find a lot of players wich is the mainstream for a MMORPG. Without new people (newbies) a MMORPG would quickly die because the game would 1) become boring really quickly, 2) the game is designed for much people, 3) the idea is mostly playing in groups however this is not a point in all MMORPG but sure in a lot of them. On this site you can find most of the common MMORPG's under Game List. You will find a list there with the most recent games. Each game that isn't still in development has been given a rating that the gamers that visit this site have awarded to it. Also you can find some cool games if you go to Discussion, then press General Discussion and then have a look into the free MMORPG list. Here are the free ones wich you don't have to pay for listen wich i think will attract a lot of people. Not every has the money to pay for it so there are games designed for them. The games in this category will OFTEN have less graphical details and events and stuff, but some or really well worth playing. Dont think they will all be great because the free ones are low budget ofcourse. Kind Regards, Me Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hatred leads to power. Power leads to victory. |

See that list on the left side of the screen? Starts with Anarchy Online... ends at World of Warcraft... If you look near the top of the window, see a link labeled "Game List". Click on it...

A MMORPG is a game where TONS of people from around the world come and pretty much play a RPG game, except its online and thousands of people play with you. MMORPG usually consists of quests, weapons, armor, items, social, and exploring the huge world of the MMORPG you play. Pretty much you Role Play if want or go to a PVP (player vs player) server and able to play game normally except you can kill other players. You can also create a guild and have guild raids where your whole guild goes and kills a huge boss or helps some guildmates get some things or help on quests. MMORPGs are the type of game worth for years and years worth of playing usually for a fee of 10-15 dollars a month. BTW monthly fees are used to update game, fix bugs, pay workers, and other things to keep game running smoothly. Also make sure your comp has at least the minimum requirements or gameplay sometimes won't be fun to play. Some examples of some good MMORPGs are: .99999999999~=1? |

Another important attribute to keep in mind is the number of simultaneous players per server. Unlike games such as Diablo 2, Starcraft, Tribes, and so forth, MMORPGs allow thousands of players to be in a single server (instead of 64). -------------------- |

Maybe I'm wrong or maybe someone has said it, but MMORPG's have a persistent virtual world. Even though it's all strings of code and purely idealogical, there is a world that exists whether you are logged in or logged off, and all the players live in the same world, that can stay the same or change over time, but what you see everyone sees. In other words, the server never goes down or gets wiped(on purpose).
