Seriously.
Im tired of people saying stupid things thatll dumb this game down, when it really isent that important Theres really no originality with Vanguard. Cutting off some mechanics off other games an MMO does not make.Please dont try to say "WTF are you talking about?, Diplomacy, and flying mounts!". Im talking about the core mechanics of the game. Not all the silly crap. The only thing I like about this is the exploration. Trainers, are ripped from WoW. UI is ripped from WoW. Quest System is ripped from WoW. The community is crap also. People are saying they want a good community. YOU are the community. Not the devs. Hopefully the game will turn around a few months after the release. I really had high hopes for this game, oh well. |

I see more EQ2-ish elements in VG rather than WoW. But WoW ripped most everything from other games like EQ1.

I know I am the community and I have tried to do the best I can to help other people. Though the rest of the people are too snotty them selfs. Ten Ton Hammer said the NDA was broken, so I dont know.
IMO theres more WoWish elements then EQ2. Trainers, Quest System, and UI. Though the world seems more EverQuest/2ish. WoW did rip alot of things. Though not the things I stated. |

You are right, the game is not horribly original in it's ground concept. But that's what I like, It has everything I like from all the games I like.
In my opinion VG - even in it's current state - is better then any other MMO out there. Is it better then EQ back in the day? Probably not. But it's better then EQ right now. |

It sounds to me like you simply haven't spent much time with the game, or at least your only real MMO experience begins and ends with WoW. You claim so many things were taken from that game yet everyone knows that 90% of WoW was stolen directly from EQ which was of course created by the people now making Vanguard. I'll let you do the math on that one.
You claim it's not original yet : The crafting system is unique and FAR more advanced than it is in a game like WoW. EQ2 had the promise of a great crafting system at launch, but rather than augment it they chose to dumb it down so it lost all it's interesting / original features. Vanguard on the other hand has a complete new, fresh take on crafting start to finish. Can you build your own house in WoW? Didn't think so. Can your build your own Boat in WoW that you can use to travel where / when you want and explore otherwise unreachable areas ? Nope. Diplomacy in WoW ? How about caravans and fellowships ? Can you store sets of armor on your WoW mounts ? How about a full set of gear / weapons / tools for each aspect of gameplay that will automatically swap in as your current set depending on weather you're harvesting / crafting / fighting / in parlay with an npc ? Can you harvest resources as a group to gain more from a single node in WoW ? The list could go on, but that truely does just scratch the surface of that's new and unique in Vanguard. Copied from WoW ? Haha, yea right  |

Sadly, it doesent have anything mixed in I like. I believe they were trying to aim for everyones style?, thats a difficult task. It dident come out to my expectations. If this is the style they were aiming for pff. Ive talked to many different people, and they dont like it either, The community is still horrible though :P.

There are only 2 things that I hate about Vanguard.
#1: The system requirements. #2: The weird looking animations (Especially the walking / running). There is only 1 thing I hate about WoW. #1: The community. And for gods sake, stop claiming that companies steal gameplay elements. Its the same freakin genre. You don't hear me yelling how warcraft stole elements of Dune2? Its the same genre. If it works, why bother complaining about it? Both games (WoW and Vanguard) rock. Just because you like one more than the other (Or the other not at all), doesn't mean you have to shove your opinions down our throats. I'lle play both games. |
