I had fun accomplishing the ranks and used the quest to exp , old system ftw.

I dought they bring the old system back, but I agree I liked it, you actually had to "Work" to get something. Took me months (Or was it weeks) to get my Rank 11 Mount and now, anyone can get it easy as pie :(

The Old system just showed the ones that where truely into PVP, and the ones that just played around with it. After getting to rank 11 (And taking forever to do it) i hung my hat up on PVP for a bit (And actually left WoW shortly after for a bit)

Both systems had/have good points and bad, just see what changes they make to it in the following months

The old system was only huge grind, a competition of who spent the most time with his char in Battlegrounds. I prefer this new one, as it makes it possible to reach even the best rewards without giving up your life and your work to do so.

And the arena ladder is really nice, finally a competition of who's best instead of always the competition of who spends more time, so the most hardcore PvPers should be happier than with the previous system.

I'm on the fence with this one.  I dont mind the current system, but I sure wish I could have a rank listed by my name.  I get plenty of the HK Notices when taking out an enemy player, but I sure wish I had the ranks.:)

The new system is the only reason I play WoW. I refuse to play a game 10 hours a day to stay on top, or even have a chance. I only wish we still had titles.

Someone else in this thread (sorry, to lazy to refind it and quote) suggested ranks be given out in the new system, like rank 1 for 10K, rank 2 for 20K, etc.

I think this would be nice for a few reasons.  These are personal opinion, so feel free to disagree, but this is how I think it should work.

1) This should be very easy for Blizz to do, as it's just like the REP (and character XP) systems.  You get so much REP, or honor in this case, and you ding another level.  I don't think each 10K would be the cut off, and the amount needed for each level should increase as you go up.  eg: Rank 1 10K, Rank2 30K, Rank 3 60K, etc.  I don't know what the math would be, thats just adding 10K for each rank level, onto the previous... so by Rank 20, you'd be adding another 200K required, to whatever you already had to get for 19.  Ya know?

2) Titles would be something you could earn to show off how much you PVP, for braggin rights, and would be more accurate than showing off gear.  I can PVP a few hours a month, and after a year, get the coolest super high ass whooper plate helm EVER... and thats it.  You still wouldn't know if I eat sleep and breath dead alliance bodies :P or just do it when there's nothing on TV.  Ranks would be something you HAVE to continue to work for.  Even beyond just getting the gear.  By the time you get rank 20, you could have bought the top gear 10x over... but, you kept going.  You killed EVERYONE.  again and again.  That deserves a name that sticks.

3) I think everyone loves the new system for trading honor points for PvP rewards, even the old guys for the most part.  Cause if you were way up there and then stumbled down just before you could buy your ranked gear, it was annoying... this way, it just all accumulates and you don't have to be on more than the other guy each and every day.  Those of us that work, have a chance.  But, again, a title would show you at least put in the same amount of time over a year, that he put in last week :P No change to how items are bought should be necessary.  This IS a much better and fair system for all players when it comes to items.
