I don't blame him but like I said guys... he had the nads to post here and deal with us and say "sorry" in most respects as far as he could.

AGAIN, make no mistake as I clearly stated above.. I still hold him responsible BUT it was not just him... please do not ever think that Mr. Freeman invented the NGE and made those forum comments.   Do not forget he is like us in the respect we express our feelings and views here and that it does piss people off... I should know.

None the less, he came here to express somthing and explain it.. Like other Devs or SOE mods posting here... they have some respect for posting here... trying to explain things now.. AT LEAST they do that.. , THAT is somthing you WILL NEVER EVER SEE on the SOE boards because they cannot do that there.  They have to let the happy fairy land beleive what they need to.   Politics and contracts, conflicts of intrests etc.. play a role in this beyond what we may ever know.

I do hope that some day we could get a discussion here with Mr. Smedley , Mr. Freeman and Mr. Koster... but it would have to be moderated and could answer so many questions that cannot be answered in a offical forum.

Sure the NGErs (present) may not like this, they may not like seeing this go so bad or end up like this but this is the way it is and predicted.   Soon they will either figure out how bad this really is or they will still try to pretend nothing is wrong or went wrong.   None the less, when you see people LEAVE THE BOAT one should notice it and pay attention while taking it for what it's worth.

It took over a year to get people to admit what this whole mess has done, from people getting fired, let go, asked to be let go, or quiting etc... If anything here thinks the "NGE" has done well for SOE or this group of people then you really need to get out more.

I think at this time we can at least know that it ruined alot of people and put some bad tastes in alot of peoples mouth.

No doubt this will be remembered in the programing and gaming industry... you can bet on it.

Nah, no conspiracy afoot there.

I'm still not going to bash the NGE, though. That would be hypocritical of me on the one hand, unprofessional on the other. Plus just mean to former-coworkers and friends at SOE for no good reason.

I am sorry for how insensitive I was with the 'shenanigans' blogpost. Not that my saying sorry is going to take-back hurt-feelings that caused.

Various suggestions as to what I ought to do have popped up from time to time - like becoming a hobo, or burning in hell - but I'm not real fond of either of those options.

I'm impressed. This not the most welcoming of forums to post in for a guy with your history. I'm definitely impressed. 10 bonus points for even setting foot in here.

While i dislike what happened to swg in the nge, it was a group of people who created this mess from soe and la and the few players screaming that caused it all.

And while i feel Freeman had his hands in it, i dont hold it against anyone doing a job, even if i personaly hate the outcome. I have never met Mr. Freeman so i cant hate or even dislike him, and i do think it took guts to step into this forum, where he had to have known he was a target for anyone with a grudge (raise your hand if you have a grudge!) thought so!)

I would have thought not doing a 180 degree turn on the core features of a piece of software that had been out for 2 years was common sense and a basic part of any software development cycle and not something you have to learn. 

I hope your never near the dev team for another sandbox MMO again.

As I stated before, I hold him responsible... that is true, BUT HE IS NOT THE ONLY ONE... he was about 5% of this if that I promise that.

None the less, he has come here to be civil and help us UNDERSTAND some things... look, Im pissed more then 90% of you, I have flamed, posted, ranted on over 10 sites, SOE forums, got Smedley to send some of you emails, posted my own and just about pissed off every NGEr by putting statements and facts in thier face they hate... So BY ALL MEANS, I am not in any means since the start of this a "brown noser" on this topic.

But I can sure as fuck tell you I would rather have a civil discussion to help understand or KNOW the truth and more about why and what happend.

So far we have all talked about alot of things here, Mr. Freeman posted here to discuss things... If we are ever going to know the truth, this will be the only way it happens, because THEY CANNOT DO THIS ON A Private gaming site or whom they worked for owned site.. that is a breach of some kind I'm sure.

I rather try to have some civil discussions then not, sure you can still say how you feel BUT if we are going to understand or know more -- OR have the ability to say to the NGErs "See told you that you were fooled" -- then you need to play the politics of this mess as well.

Yes, I can say I am dissapointed, yes we are all still  pissed.. BUT I rather be able to talk to the people we are pissed at then not at all.

I would go out on a limb here and say we could get another Dev/SOE person to come here to talk.. BUT we would have to be somewhat civil.

We could get some candid answers we always wanted and maybe understand better what really happend.

*Again, I am just saying...*   MMORPG lets us speak freely here alot, but I think in most respects Devs and or SOE employees may have a bit more freedom here...

I heard that he escaped from his metal box after Smedley came back one night drunk and forgot to lock it. Seems Smed had been flying around in the wee hours scouting for virgins blood like he usualy does, couldn't find any and since the sun was rising he compromised and fed on Elizabeth Taylor after she'd collapsed due to drinking two bottles of Vodka. Smed only just managed to fly back to Austin and stagger into his coffin before daylight came, forgeting to lock one of his tortured minions away in his metal box for the day.

Jeff is now investing in garlic and is probably applying to CCP for a job on their vampire MMO, Jeff sleeps with a wooden mallet and stake under his bed!

   Isk, its the first time I dont agree with you.

   Look it this way:

   When somebody  working in a company accepts to do something,changes,decisions etc etc He has to keep in mind future consequences of supporting that idea. Anyway when he remained in SOE ,he had a salary hadnt he? so that meant you agree with the colors of your company. He remained in SOE,he could leave,he had enough time.

So it was his decision.  I think it is cinic coming to this forum and say 'sorry'; so he threw the stone,supported his company and now when the sunset is near comes here and say im sorry after a year when everybody knew it was going to be a sure failure.

whats next? making a donation if he doesnt find a new job? lol
