Ok, I've waited for someone to say that, and no1 has, so I'll be the chosen one (by myself). Most, if not all, of the 250 beta winners have read the following Post by Mr. Marco van Haren, also known as - Freeze_TCoS, the PR Manager of TCoS.
I edited the original message to make it shorter and more concise.

So ok, let me get this straight. You win something, completely free, above hundreds of thousands people that have been waiting to get in for 3 years and know the game, it's developers and it's community inside and out. You WIN this from a company whome you know is in it's final months of ACTIVE development and is probably working around the clock to get a quality product out in to the market and even with EVERYTHING going on they still had the courtesy to at least take a minute and tell you they are getting to you shortly. And even with ALLLLLL that, your going to start to say that Spellborn is losing credibility because they havn't gotten to you fast enough? Because they might take what... 1 week, 2 weeks, ok lets say worse case scenario even 3 weeks longer then they thought it would be? Wow well you know what, I feel horrible for those that lost a chance of being in Beta and you managed to get in but just so you don't freak out to bad, no company has ever run a beta better then the boys and girls over at TCoS so don't get your knickers in a bunch to quickly, I'm sure you'll be getting notified of something really soon.

I was expecting one of you to try to turn me into a whining asshole, so congrats shae, you got the job.
Well, depnding on your POV this could be a whining post but I think that I'm not asking for something out of the legitimate realm, because they, as you say, "at least take a minute and tell you they are getting" but with a date - two weeks. I didn't post this exactly on the day they promised to notify us, I waited.. and then thought a word in the subject would be nice. shae said: "and even with EVERYTHING going on they still had the courtesy to at least take a minute and tell you they are getting to you shortly." By the way, Freeze is a PR manager, so letting people know things on the game over online boards is one of is job functions, so don't make it so big as a courtesy, you're really exaggerating. |

Well firstly Amo, I didn't call you an asshole or accuse you of whinning. Had I felt that way, and ask anyone in these forums, you'd know it because I would have said it. I don't think you are either and if you got the impression thats what I was trying to impress on you then I appologize as I was probably harsher then called for. My point WAS this though. It's a rough time for the folks over at TCoS and they are working their collective touches off. You are absolute right, it is Freezes job as the PR guy to get information out but it's also not his only responsibility, his is a very WIIIIDE sweeping title. In times like this, hours spent at work are chaotic at best, it only stands to reason that some things will take some little bit of time and I really don't think thats unreasonable considering the goings on. Also, as I said, lots of people have been waiting for YEARS to get into beta. They have been part of the community, contributed and have loved the project from the begining AND still have yet to even be considered for a Beta account. Someone getting their 'rant-on" about not being responded to effeciently enough is well... a little rude to these people and it would be great if you could perhaps just a show a little class in this instance and know theres others out that would absolutely love to be in your position, having a Beta secured and waiting for you shortly. Beyond all that! There are large posibility's that there is a overall plan to get you into Beta properly, with a minimum amount of technical difficulty's for you to endure. This takes planning and clarifying before everyone knows what's going on, if there is a hold up, I'm sure that would be it. |

well if shae won't say it, I will. what a cry baby, i'm waiting for a beta key too. But you don't see me being an impatient douche.
|

Yeah, I'm being "impatient douche" about something *they* declared. If they were'nt saying something in the line of - "wait till middle of novmeber" I wouldn't have said anything. But this is clearly not the case. I think a company, ANY company, that wants to have customers should be responsible for what they announce to those future-customers. Maybe I'm wrong all the way, and you Kunfubar are a representative of the majority, that doesn't care if official peronal tells him something and doesn't keep his word. I thought that maybe other thinks that it's NOT okay. Why? because if it a lot of people were saying that, it WILL catch the company attention and things will be in motion. Anyway, I said enough, maybe I'm alone at this opinion, and that's also fine. Over And Out. |

nonsense i appied for beta a few days ago on spellborn, i know there is no chance of me geting in anyway i just thought out of randomness, hehe a very long que for beta testers. im in a simiar position myself i asked a gm from 9dragons about server irregularities and havent had a response for almost 1 week. i know how frustrationg that is but i wait.
ever heard of the saying. 'good things come to those who wait'?. patience isnt a virtue of mine and i hate having to wait for things, heres something else for me to think about while im at it. i love formula 1 racing and it wont be on until next year, march 18th about 125 days away from when this post has been dated, its along time

I think its good to apply for betas for games you think your going to purchase even if you know you wont get in.. i imagine that it helps give the developers an idea of the population they will have once released, and thats good for every one

So will we be getting an email before the end of nov still or no? |

Hey Mr. Freeze,
Thank you for giving us heads up on what's going on. I hope my post wasn't too harsh, it was meant to elevate awarness (and to some extent it did, I guess). Anyway, I'm glad your game got such media-attention, this kind of promotion is vital for game success, sometimes even more than the actual game mechanics. Well, all I can say now is that I hope you won't disappoint on ". . .very soon with an email update" and I shall be waiting to an email from your company. |

It's not that the question was asked it was the manner in which it was asked. |

Here is a copy of Freeze's post from the "Gratz Everyone" Thread here in the forums... In case anyone hasn't read it...
Hey Guys, A quick update here from Spellborn HQ: First of all, we are amazed by the amount of competition entries. While these numbers make us very happy, we will make sure that we can give all the people that didn't win a fair chance to join the open beta when it starts at the end of this year/early 2007. Cheers, Marco 'Freeze' van Haren Aspire to Inspire before you Expire... |

If you had read MY post carefully, you would've noticed I talked about "email from the company" i.e knowing what's going on, maybe joining the beta forum etc'. Email as info. I didn't say anything about get in the beta now!
Freeze clearly states there that we will get emaisl in two weeks. Damn, the man apologized about not keeping his promise! It just to show you I talked about a legitimate subject. Anyway, now that we got info from Freeze, and the posts still coming in, some of them against me, I think this thread become flame-fest with no point whatsoever. So you can all still say that "the manner" wasn't right, and that I'm a whining ass (as some1 said), I would not respond to that - the point of this thread is done. Cya all in the game! |

Not that TCoS is loosing credibility. It is just that they are a small and young company and always have had problems handling things properly. They have always had problems to deliver in time and alway informed people late. It is just the way things are. I suspect they just dont have to money to hire the people to handle these things properly. I guess that will change when the Chronicles of Spellborn become a hit.
