I went into so much research into this game for a few months and then I found out it was going to be a P2P game. Don't you all agree that paying should be optional?

Paying is optional. You have the option of not paying and thereby not playing.

Paying to play an MMO is just as optional as devs deciding to work on it. Je mettrai l'amour sur dos de moi. |

I think that paying for a game monthly is a good thing (though it
shouldn't be as high as today is normal, around 5 euro/$ should be
better).
When you pay a monthly fee, the company keeps getting money from it, and it will try to let players keep playing there game so they get more money. So they will do their bests to make it a good game, with new content, new updates etc. if you don't have to pay to play the company will at its peak with selling copies of the game, just let the devs work on some other project and not spend any more money on a game which will not make anymore profit for them. (sorry if my story is hard to follow, I'm very tired...) |

What Elda said pretty much sums up why games such as these need to be P2P.
I wouldn't mind this game as P2P, I love pirates therefore paying for this game won't be such a big deal! :D |

When I look for a new game, I always look at the "Monthly cost" area and if it gives price, I'd go back and look for another game

Because heaven forbid you should take a chance on a game you might really like over what apparently for you is a deal-breaking 50 cents a day? "Paper is fine... nerf Rock!" --Scissors |

The cost you complain about, usually around 15$ a month is irrelevant - It costs roughly the same to see a movie with popcorn and a soda. But a film will only last a few hours then you're bored again.... For 15 bucks you get roughly 720 hours (30 days) of countinuos entertainment in a massive multiplayer game wich is constantly being expanded and updated all the time, making it better and better as time goes by. people may play a single player game for a few months... But you can find plenty of MMORPG fans who have played the same game for years. In short i dont want this game to be free, i like the concept and i want a good service. I can see myself enjoying this game for awile. |

If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem. |

Perhaps your Mom did when she was pregnant. When I see a game listed as supposedly free to play, I quickly discard it and look for a game with a monthly subscription which indicates it has a higher chance of being worthwhile.

I want the game to be f2p but if it was then it would mean 1) it wouldnt last long because no monthly fee usually mean no updates 2)if one is true then it wouldnt be worth my time. |

Man have you ever played any worthwhile game? All of them are p2p, i have no idea why you even posted this post.

I have played Runescape which costed $5/month and that wasn't worthwhile. Anyway, many people don't have access to paying for games online so we'd like to play some free games with optional payments. Buying the game from a shop is no problem. Bailyes |

That's because Runescape ISN'T worthwhile. Really =). You'd get a much better deal paying thrice that much and still get a much better game and game community. But, if you want to try a better free game (or really a free trial) you could try Anarchy Online. They have a fairly expansive free trial as you get to play the classic version and the Notum Wars exapnsion. There's also the Saga of Ryzom trial which is unlimited (timewise), but a little more limited as you have a lvl 21 cap on the island.

True. I might try out AO when I get a new PC because the graphics on this PC is really bad. As I've been saying, I don't mind paying £20 for this game. Are there more payment options whilst you are in the game? (Like the option to buy game currency with real cash) Bailyes |

That option isn't available legallly. There's always a black market that is created by the fabled Chinese phatz and game currency farmers though. I wouldn't encourage it however. |
|
ok. That's good because all the players get an equal chance. When the game sells their currency, Newbie's will look awesome when experienced players won't look as good. The black market. I've seen loads of these when I played RuneScape. I don't really agree in having these mainly because it's illegal and unfair on everyone else. Bailyes |

When I was 15 years old, I started working a part time job and had plenty of money to afford inexpensive things like a low monthly MMOG subscription.
