Just played it two days ago. Character creation - physical appearance was pretty cool, allows you to customize characters much more specific than a lot of other mmorpgs. However, as far as game play is concerned..it came to be a typical grind game in my opinion. Go upstairs to level 4, kill, then level. Keep killing, get more money, buy better items. Combat was not very detailed. Melee, you button mash. Range you zoom in and shoot. But it takes very little skill to shoot a gun. The cross hair is enormous and leaves a lot of room for error, and doesn't miss often. No strategy involved whatsoever. Just have the bigger weapon and armor and you're the best. Note: It seems as though game designers, by simplifying the game to hack and slash are trying to make the game appeal to very young children - age groups 4-10. Movement - Can't do anything fancy, just run or walk. No jump, roll, dive, crouch. Graphics & Sound FX & Music - poor and repetitive. Turned it off immediately. Plain is the best word to describe it, because it'll leave you wanting something more. I had low expectations for this game so not even meeting expectations really makes this a worse disappointment. For those of you who refuse to accept my review, I recommend downloading it on 360 for yourself. To those who want more in an mmorpg, think twice before buying this game. Graphics 7.0 Sound 4.0 Gameplay 4.0 Replayability 5.0 Overall 5.0/10.0
Learning curve 15-30 minutes

And what makes you think that? Last time I checked, My little nephew also drops a game when its too easy. not to mention PSU has a monthly fee, I seriously doubt the target audience are 4- 10 years old. and if the game is anything like PSO, the game difficulty level will increase. on a sidenote, if you were expecting an MMORPG, then you will be dissapointed. PSU is not an MMO. |

Your insane lol, the combat is what drives this game, by far the best combat engine out for an online rpg (mmo or otherwise) PERIOD. Sure you kill stuff, thats not a grind, because the combat engine is so fun. I give your post a 0. It is clear you never played past Pstar games, your probably just some frustrated GW player Rites of the Four Horsemen |

I wouldn't post that statement on any other forum because 100% of the population will disagree with you. I've played the PS 1&2 and also the original PSO. The combat in the game is elementary, and so dull that only a child would find it amusing.

Play it for yourself and you'll see what I mean. It's a button mashing game. In the beta you can interact with numerous players, and also jump servers. |

Honestly most every game is a button mashing game. Sure some have a bit more strategy (ie Gw) but in the end most people just mash buttons without really thinking about what they are doing. My 1 year old daughter could play as well as a lot of people in PVE just by letting her pound on the keyboard. Not trying to dig you or anything, but to me all games are pretty much button mashing games. -------------------------------- Looking forward to: Guild Wars 2 Quit: Eden Eternal, Wakfu, DDO, STO, DCUO, Sword 2, Atlantica Online, LOTRO, SWTOR, RIFT, Earthrise, FFXIV, RoM, Allods Online, GA,WAR,CO,V:SoH,POTBS,TR,COH/COV, WOW, DDO,AL, EQ, Eve, L2, AA, Mx0, SWG, SoR, AO, RFO, DAoC, and others. |

I was comparing keys on the keyboard with buttons. Maybe I should have said keymashing. ;) -------------------------------- Looking forward to: Guild Wars 2 Quit: Eden Eternal, Wakfu, DDO, STO, DCUO, Sword 2, Atlantica Online, LOTRO, SWTOR, RIFT, Earthrise, FFXIV, RoM, Allods Online, GA,WAR,CO,V:SoH,POTBS,TR,COH/COV, WOW, DDO,AL, EQ, Eve, L2, AA, Mx0, SWG, SoR, AO, RFO, DAoC, and others. |

Pretty much all you do in all online rpg's is to grind and get better stuff, but in this games case it trades things like large seemless worlds to explore and boring combat to simple awesome action gameplay with cool special effects and more instanced zones This game is not about big long story quests or long explorations into a big world, its simply to play and to kick ass and have fun doing it This is a action rpg not a simple rpg |

Take a 9mm and swallow it as you fire. You are the most worthless human being on the planet at the moment. Phantasy Star series will be the most fun and original franchise you'll ever play. Go back to your cave and never come out, cause you are disgusting. |

...Are you out of your mind kid? I refuse your review. I have been playing beta for 360 since it came out and I'm loving it. I'll give my open beta review when I'm done playing it.

Everyone here who said that the original user who posted this topic was "retarded beyond all belief" needs to take a step back from their computer and think about what they just said, as it was nothing more than a "flame". Everyone has their right to an opinion on the "rating" of a game. This post i believe was originally written for people like me ( an avid gamer with over 25 MMO titles in his belt ) who wants to get an idea of the game before going to spend the $50 bucks to go buy it. Now this doesn't mean that I will read just one person's opinion and say " That's what this game is like ", but everyone has their likes and dislikes to a game. I'm sure there's another game out there that you think is "retarded beyond all belief" and someone else thinks is great, so stop the pointless posts please! Thanks t5chris for the rating. I noticed you only played it on the xbox 360. Do you think that had some effect on the gameplay or replayability? |
