Well, after 1.5 years, some 60s and alot of fun, I am done with WoW. It was fun, but I grew bored, so with that said, Can anyone suggest some good games?

I miss my Ultima, but I am looking for a game with:

- Great PvP, not WoW battlegrounds but like the Old DoAC where you actually "hunted" the enemy. 

-Great Solo Play

-Crafting

Any thoughts?

Come to UO it's getting better by the week , and with new graphics next year will look better.

Heres some tips when looking for a new mmorpg

1. Look at playerbase if the game is old, or has alot of players saying they cant get groups most of the time, its ussually true.

2. EQ2 PVP = You must roll a scout or you cant PVP. Maybe a monk and bruiser is ok but if your not a brigand, ranger then you will have no fun at PVP.

3. Look at the company itself, if its not very well known or is known for making games crappy due to updates or destroying other games for no reason dont join that game.

Im just trying to save ya money bro. Comming from WoW i was in the same boat you were in sadly i quit all mmorpgs instead of wasting money i saved up money for either then WoW xpac or a new mmo like vanguard,warhammer ,etc.

Yeah, I hear ya. Thanks everyone fo the heads up, I guess I am just doomed :(

Sigh, waiting for the next thing I guess....

Watch for Warhammer...but if you're a patient player and like Strategy to play a large roll in PvP, you might want to try EVE.  Though it's a love it or hate it game.

    Honestly I would say there are about 0 mmorpgs that compare to WoW right now. I played it got 2 60's and then quit because I was tired of the life absorption/grind for equipment/levels.

     Since I quit WoW I have been playing mostly f2p games which has been for awhile. http://rakion.softnyx.net is one, although it has lag bugs, that kept me occupied for months so give it a try. www.gunzonline.com is a 3rd person fps matrix style(wall running,diving etc). Since I got bored with those games though im just waiting for good ones to come out.

      Go to the store and pick up BF:2 or something and play a good fps for awhile. If you absolutely hate fps I suggest going back to old-school diablo 2. Fear-multiplayer is free now although thats an fps its still free so w/e. As of now your not going to find a current mmorpg that even begins to challange WoW.... after this new wave though.... we will see. These games have to beat WoW's leveling,class,pvp,crafting, and raiding system all of which seem to be better then the other ones currently out there. I am guessing the challangers for WoW will be conan, spellborn, darkfall, and Fury because its the only one out of those besides darkfall that will do twitch combat I think... spellborn might but im not sure. Just go to www.onrpg.com and browse through their free mmorpg list or their free fps list. I will tell you right now that just about all, if not all, of their mmorpgs listed are grind fests but some might keep you occupied for awhile....

I would give Eve a try.  Understand however, that it is nothing like WOW.  Eve is a very complicated, deep game that takes a long time to understand.  You will not log on as you did in WOW, pick a character and in 5 minutes start killing stuff.  Your first month of play will not reveal 50% of all aspects in this game.  After 6 months you will understand 75% of the game and claim that you know all about Eve.  A short time after that you may even quit to play another game.  Most probably you will return however, when you realize the game you were playing was fun for a short period of time, but did not provide long term satisfaction.  After the first year of Eve, you will realize that the complexity and depth of the game is beyond that which exists in most of the games today. 

Some people will post that the game is nothing more than an interactive screen saver.  Those people typically did not play past 30 days.  Don't fault them.  One of Eve's shortcomings is that it does not offer immediate satisfaction.  In some ways their opinion is correct.  At the most basic levels of the game, Eve is an interactive screen saver.   At the most advanced levels of the game, it is a giant corporate battle between teams consisting of thousands of players who own vast amounts of wealth and strive for assets, territory and power in a universe that is astounding in size. 

Another game you could try is Lineage 2.  I don't think it will appeal to you very much after WOW though.  Lineage 2 in my opinion is WOW hard core with much less candy.  It is also another "long-term" game that will require more time and comittment from you than WOW did. 

As an FYI - I've played WOW, Lineage 2, Everquest 1, Everquest 2 and Eve On-line.  I don't have a problem recommending any of these games.  They are all good, and each one has its shortcomings.  As a veteran MMO player though, Eve is my first choice.  Thanks.

I would go with Eve online. Written by ex-UO players and currently the best PvP, best player economy out there. The game engine is very similar to UO pre-trammel but in a sci-fi setting.

WoW = multiplayer game

Eve online = virtual world
