Last week, I made the trip down to Las Vegas to attend Dark Age of Camelot's west coast Roundtable event. Their largest yet, this report gets into some of Mythic's future plans, an interesting speech from D&D co-creator Dave Arneson, shows former MMORPG.com staffer Richard Duffek in his new gear and much more.

Twice annually, Mythic Entertainment holds a Dark Age of Camelot Roundtable. This year’s west coast event in Las Vegas, Nevada marked the first time that the company had invited media as well as players. Held in the Rio, the event offers fans the chance to meet with the development team, learn about upcoming changes to the game and – perhaps most importantly – meet each other.

Not to be confused with their frequent Roadtrip events, the Roundtables are much larger endeavors. Typically, the west coast event takes place in Las Vegas in the fall, while the east coast fans gather in Washington in the spring. On Friday, the festivities got under way with dinner, raffles and games.

You may read the full report here.

Mm, great report. It touched on pretty much all the issues there. I myself am very excited to get the epic edition and start playing. The game seems to have a lot of growth to do unlike the others where they must apply to only one niche, that they're willing to try new things. I didn't really care for the wedding because I doubt they ever last beyond the 'cutesy' phase, but the D&D speech seemed really down pat. Overall, I congratulate you on your work. Maybe I'll catch you on Gareth if you play there, For the Midgard...ians!!

P.S. If you're not using your gargoyle item/darkness rising key, can I have it? :D

I so could have won that NViadia its not even funny

Anyways, good report. Im REALLY looking forward to the new expansion now that they mentioned home invasion servers. I would love to play in the battleground only servers also, and the Evolution Server is just brilliant. Though i am worried that champion levels will turn into another ToA thing, i.e you have to do them or else you suck. Or maybe it will be amazing and groundbreaking.

Time only knows

They said they were thinking about it, they might not even have one or even any. It's really all concepts at this stage (I would think) to what may work. Personally I'd like the home invasion but hope it doesn't break leveling for the newbs and all that like WoW did.

Huh, must have missed the "thinking about it" part. Damn, i would REALLY love to see a Home Invasion. And it wouldn't ruin leveling for newbies, some level 50's will probably hang out at the newbie areas, waiting for a good kill.

Beyond Darkness Rising, Jeff also looked to the future of DAoC. Beyond the obvious plan of fixing bugs, Jeff outlined ideas floating around the office, none of which he can promise will ever happen. They included several new server types:
