Wayback Wednesday: DAoC Finale

Last week marked the conclusion of our epic saga through Dark Age of Camelot. Over the past 12 months we have spent time with each realm in DAoC, Hibernia, Midgard, and Albion. We started our adventures in each realm in the Thidranki battleground and progressed to Molvik, Cathal Valley, and finished up on each realm with a jaunt through the New Frontiers.

This past year the partnership with Wayback Wednesday and Mythic brought a new dialogue between the players and the DAoC developers that had not existed for a long time. We learned things from Mythic surrounding the history and development of DAoC that we either did not know, or had long been forgotten.

On our last episode we also got a nice glimpse into the future of DAoC. No you will not see a DAoC expansion. It just isn’t in the cards. You could see new campaigns like the Pict invasion, but you will see refinements to the New Frontiers. You will also see very soon a return of the fan favorite, and my favorite too, Camelot Herald. This is an item that has been placed on the books for implementation and is no longer just for consideration. The always elusive infernal merchants will make their way back to Camelot, sooner, rather than later. Also during the past year the Mordred transfers that many DAoC vets have been asking for these past years have finally came through.

While this was the last episode in the series it will not be the last time DAoC makes a visit to Wayback Wednesday. I’m not 100% sure how we will do the format of the next episode but keep your eyes out. It will make its return. If you would like to see the entire transcript of the episode take a look at one of the blogs maintained by community member Tom aka Etaew.

Tonight’s episode of Wayback Wednesday will feature EverQuest. This will be our fourth foray into the world of Norrath with the EQ team from SOE. We will get to take a look at the new Shadow of Fear update and hopefully sneak a peak at the god Luclin. Make sure to tune in and watch our adventure as it unfolds on MMORPG.com Live Streams page!. The action for Wayback Wednesday begins at 9:30 pm EDT. Thanks for watching!
