The Crowfall test server has been updated with the inclusion of the Race / Class selection features including the newly added Elken Cleric -- "your murdeer can now pick up a hammer and shield and chuck it".
The site has a detailed post on how the notion of race / class combos came to be. In fact, a handy chart is available to show the entirety of the feature.
Now that we’ve split our Archetypes into Races and Classes, we are getting ready to test it internally, in advance of bringing it up on the TEST environment for you guys to play with! The majority of the Race and Class combinations that we want for launch will be available in 5.3, and every update between now and release should “fill in the gaps” of Race/Class combos (and genders) that we haven’t quite gotten to yet.
Artcraft is also celebrating the successful Campaign test phase which saw servers running 24/7 and is considered a major milestone for the game. It is due to Campaign success that the race/class combos can now be brought into the testing phase as the next major feature.
Other notable pieces of the test server update include the revised character creation UI, "significant visual upgrades", improved monster AI, skill training and more.
