Thomas “Blixtev” Blair has posted another developer blog called “Meet the Stoneborn!” He introduces the Stoneborn as the eldest of races. Created by the gods but not born of them, their numbers dwindle with the death of each Stoneborn as no new ones are created. The Stoneborn are enchanted creatures of earth and plant life. Despite being called Dwarves by the younger races, the Stoneborn are as tall as humans but twice as wide and are only smaller than the Half-Giants.
The Stoneborn Racial Runestone adds strength, constitution, and spirit. Their Bloodline Passive makes gives them a massive reduction to knockdown effects as well as granting them a damage and healing buff, meaning you won’t want to target them with any kind of knockdown and will probably discourage AoE knockdowns with their mere presence. That’s the idea, anyway. They also have two active abilities. The not so unique Dodge ability, and the Stoneskin ability, which increases mitigations, removes poison, but reduces healing received.
Stoneborn can be Knights, Champions, Myrmidons, and Clerics.
The Stoneborn model looks much more aligned with nature than I previously expected with its beard of roots and leaves. It’s a unique concept for a dwarf race that is usually rather earthen or fire heavy with its image.
