Introducing the Cleric - Basic Power Kit Revealed

The Cleric is the latest Crowfall Archetype to get a more detailed presentation of skills and abilities on the official site. The article goes into depth about the design process and changes over time to the idea of a "support" class. But the Crowfall difference is interesting: Not only will the Cleric embody a typical member of the so-called Holy Trinity, but will also come with some offensive options as well.


Skill Training Streamlined, Graphically Enhanced

The Crowfall Skill Training system has undergone a major revision, both graphically and through streamlining of the system overall. Most notably, skill advancement will occur through a "pip system". Each skill will have five available pips that will roughly progress at the same rate as the "old" 0-100 system. At regular intervals, players will see a "pip" appear to show advancement in the skill with stat gains being applied once a pip is earned.


New Test Server to Start Up with Campaigns

Crowfall testers will soon be able to log into the newly christened "test server" to try out the campaign system. Of course, the team wants everyone to know that, as with all things "test", this could be a wild ride given that it's the first time campaigns are being trotted out.


More Details About Character Customization Emerge

The Crowfall site has been updated with a new post that reveals new information about character customization with specific regard to race and class design. Several factors have been taken into account that can be affected by either race or class. The plan is to bring cultural identity into play as well.


Teaser Week Begins with the Lore Behind the Frostweaver

The Crowfall team is unleashing a week's worth of revelations about the game. Today's first salvo is a lore story behind one of the first Archetypes revealed, the Frostweaver. It includes a brand new piece of concept art (seen above) while the story "delves into Frostweaving, Pyromancy and the origin of the magical arts".


Geomancy & Architecture Crafting Update

The Crowfall site has been updated with a brief note from Thomas "Blixtev" Blair with regard to a pair of crafting features, Architecture and "Geomancy".


Assassin Profile Sneaks Into View

The Crowfall site has been updated with a look at the Assassin Archetype. Included in the profile is a brief look at powers and abilities along with the caveat that all things should be taken with a grain of salt and are subject to change pending testing her in a larger setting.


Main Menu & Player HUD Previewed + UI Roadmap for 2017

ArtCraft's Billy Garretsen is the UX Design Lead for Crowfall and he's published a new article packed with screenshots of the game's Main Menu, Player HUD and describes how each has been reworked for better functionality and use. The Crowfall site has been updated with a new look at a pair of gender variants, the male Assassin and the male Druid. To show off how each appears vastly different than their female counterpart, the blog has concept art of the pair in various armor types.

The latest Crowfall ACE Q&A has been published. In it, the team talks about a number of systems that are currently in testing that are harbingers of big things to come in the future. You'll hear about armor mitigation, skill training times, soul power, group combat and several other topics as well as a few teasers about what these "placeholders" mean for the future versions of the game.


Discipline System As a Key Element of Progression

The first information about the Discipline System in Crowfall has been released by Thomas "Blixtev" Blair. He introduces Disciplines as a "key element in character progression and differentiation in Crowfall". This is something that has been discussed since the earliest KickStarter days and the elements are all in place to reveal even more information about it than has been up to now.


Fae Assassin Named as Next Playable Archetype

The next Archetype coming to Crowfall will be the Fae Assassin, a winged rogue type character. Unlike the Duelyst, the Fae Assassin lives above ground and is semi-translucent at all times. She uses positional-based attacks like kicks, double jumps, glide and stealth and you have a formidable opponent.


A Mighty Fortress - Taking a Look at Forts

The Crowfall recently announced the exciting news that the next major milestone will be the ability for players to hire / recruit vassals to construct a number of structures including lodges, gates, walls, towers, etc. All of these can be placed into towns, villages, cities and even inside castle walls. In a brand new post, players get a first look at the "Fort architecture" set. The article shows off a number of Lodge angles, so it's worth the time to head over to see them all.


The Knight Given a Bit More Love

The Crowfall site has been updated with a new blog post to talk about changes being made to the Knight Archetype. Among other things, Knights will now use a single resource, with all powers and skills updated to generate and use stamina. A few new skills have been added as well.
