City of Heroes Senior Lead Designer Matt Miller responded quickly to a couple of our questions about the recent announcement that City of Heroes ha launched a version for the often forgotten by game Mac. Also, find an amusing takeoff of the PC and Mac commercials from TV, announcing the move.

Mac Version Interview and Video The folks at NCsoft have released this video in celebration of the release of the MAC version of City of Heroes. In the spirit of fun, the video is a parody of the popular PC and MAc commercials on TV.

What do you feel that City of Heroes / City of Villains brings to MAC gamers? |

Mac gamers can finally get a taste of what a super-powered MMO is like. Flying through the skies of Paragon City or the Rogue Isles, stopping (or committing) crimes, creating the perfect crime-fighting costume, and throwing around bolts of energy while living out their comic-book fantasies... it’s all available now to Mac gamers as well as their PC counterparts. |

Do you feel that there is a market for MMORPGs on the MAC platform. Currently, World of Warcraft and EVE Online are out for the MAC. Do you feel that the platform will support a third option? |

Well, if the popularity of our beta is any indication, we think there’s room for City of Heroes in the Mac gaming mix. |

Will there be any differences between the MAC version and the PC version? |

Matt Miller: |
No, only some slight differences in the way the controls work. The games are identical and all players will be in the same world together. |

How long will MAC users have to wait to get updates, or will the game be updated concurrently? |

Every update will launch simultaneously for the Mac and PC; they are on the same servers after all! |

Does NCsoft have plans to move any of its other properties over to the MAC? |

We actually have a Mac client for the original Lineage you can get here: http://www.lineage.com/downloads/download_game/. As for other games, it is possible, but we’re focusing on City of Heroes for Mac right now. Did you see the new video we did to celebrate being on Mac? |
