the buildings, especially the craft workstations, haven't really changed.  the current buildings look the same as these concept shots.....

when you place buildings to be constructed, you see scaffolding to signify where it is

here is a cleric tower - there are several towers scattered around istaria, and all of them hold secrets!

there are a lot more unique and fascinating things to explore in istaria, you should come and see for yourself!

dalimond was originally the main town, before bristugo came along.  so there is a lot of artwork associated with it.

blighted areas, of course, get a lot of attention.  there are several labyrinths, gates, archs, spider infestations, and contaminated natural areas.

aughundell is another important city, so it got a lot of attention as well.

i wish i had more original concept art for the other towns.....especially kion, my mostest fave city!
