I often get asked, "What makes Spellborn different from the rest of the MMOs out there?". I tell them about the immersive story line, the distinctive graphical style, the unique twitch combat, the highly configurable skill deck and finally I drop the bombshell, the Weekly Webinars.
"So you mean that Acclaim’s Spellborn Team and the Developers have a one hour chat with the players every week?", they ask.
"Yes.", I say, "And it isn’t just the Devs and Acclaim talking. The players actually get to speak directly with us and will sometimes have to answer questions from us."
I ask you, what other Developer or Publisher is doing anything like this?
So while Spellborn has a lot going for it in-game, it is the unique ability for the players to not only make their voices heard, but to be able to do so in a way they guarantees that they will know they are heard that really makes Spellborn different from the rest. Just to prove my point, have a listen to last weeks webinar: Spellborn Webinar Apr 30th 2009
If you want to catch this weeks Webinar, just hit the "Chats with the Spellborn Team" post where David Perry gives the details on getting registered.

Thu May 07 2009 5:31PM ReportWhat an Excellent & Fantasic Game!
Thu May 07 2009 11:16PM ReportI like the twich battle system in spellborn!
Fri May 08 2009 2:15AM ReportI'm so-so on the game... Great job though from the dev's, just not my bowl of soup I guess. I wish a game like Earth & Beyond or a new Planetside that wasn't made by SOE or EA would come out.
Fri May 08 2009 4:12PM ReportHonestly, the twitch-gameplay is good, but the storyline is NOT immersive in my opinion. Every quest has blocks of text with a writing style that I just can't take seriously.
Sun May 10 2009 4:18AM ReportI wasn't overly impressed honestly. It's not a bad game, I just expected a bit more for a p2p, especially with all the hype. After all the time it's been in development, it could have been better. Storyline isn't immersive, it's just in-depth (there's a difference), and while some places are ~beautiful~ other places are right out bland and ugly. Same for character models.
Sun May 10 2009 9:20AM Reportthis game is all but hyped up, im gonna try it out after my exams, its sounds like a fresh breath in the saturated mmo market
Mon May 11 2009 8:30AM ReportBattle system is fresh, graphics are pretty good. Quests though have you running from one side of the map to the other. Not sure if its worth $15 a month hmm.
