- 2gig ocz 1066 sli
- phenom 9500
- sapphire x3870 512mb pcie
My new set up is far more stable than my old, which is really kind of strange. I believe I had a bad part in there that was causing intermittent errors. I have also decided to try Vista out. So far so good.
Now as I sit with my new PC ready to play, I cant, for the life of me, find something to play in DX10. I mean, there is always crysis, but come on, is that it. By the time Conan comes out my PC will probably be a few hundred dollars cheaper and the new batch of phenoms will be out. Damn you gaming companies, damn you to hell. Please give me something to spend my money on :)
LotRO now utilizes DX10. As far as other MMOs go, EVE might look pretty sweet on your new computer. At least give it a little bit of a workout before it's old and overweight and never moving from the recliner...
Mon Jan 28 2008 1:57PMI just couldnt get into LotRO. I wanted to atleast get to monster play, but I couldnt make it. It was probably the most boring MMO that I have ever played. Thanks for the suggestion tho, I didnt realize it was using dx10 now.

Anyway. I kind of felt the same way soon as I got it.. but as the days went on I found more and more things to play.. but not in DX10

Theres not many games out there to take advantage of DX10.. and you won't see a full DX10 game until .. well.. probably the next release of windows.
Basically windows vista is to windows XP as windows ME was to windows 98.
Wait for windows Vienna come 2009. It's entirely redesigned like windows vista was SUPPOSED to be.

eventually, it'll be the new standard. Just like dual-core processors are becoming the "new standard" x64 will be somewhere down the line...
and after that quade-core and ......... it just keeps going. You just have to have patience and realize that you'll need to upgrade every year or two
Mon Jan 28 2008 3:46PMLOL, I'm not feeling up to building my own PC's anymore, (besides, laptops are a bit of a challenge) so I am just about to purchase one new gaming laptop and a desktop. But I was talking to my son yesterday and said, if I buy these new computers, we really need a new game to play on them. (sounds of crickets chirping). Might have to give PotBS or something like that a try just to say we have something new.
