I recently made the trek down to Baltimore, Maryland to take in Games Day and check out Warhammer Online. While I reported back on the big news from the MMO, that wasn't the only thing I saw in Baltimore.
For some reason, Mythic had a life-sized Squig in their booth. And then I ate it.
Mythic teamed up with Ace of Cakes, a TV show on the Food Network, to bring one of their most fabled creatures to life, sort of.
They made a SQUIG CAKE!
It was a strange sight to see a giant squig perched by their booth, but this red devil was 80% cake according to the creators, with only a few supports and metal bars to keep the spindly legged little guy upright.
What's more, I can now say, I've eaten Squig Meat. Mythic was kind enough to toss me a chunk of the tail.
Kudos to the group at Ace of Cakes, who not only make art out of food, but also a pretty tasty cake.
The episode was recorded and will air at some point.

Fri May 15 2009 3:09PM ReportI can say it was good, but I honestly don't recall exactly what it tasted like. Regular cake, with some tasty filling stuff (as seen in picture) that may or may not have been chocolate?
The cake LOOKS amazing. I've also always wondered if their cakes were any good to eat, so thanks for answering that. :)
