Tastes Gamey

This blog is about stuff. Sometimes that stuff has to do with MMORPGs.

I am playing right now. I've got a couple of seconds of downtime, so I thought I'd come over here and post a line or two about something that I am finding amusing. Female characters are flirting with me.  And if I stop to consider that there's a fair-to-middlin' chance that those characters are being played by guys, it is just hilarious. Guys pretending to be girls flirting with a girl pretending to be a guy? That's funny stuff right there.

I wish EQ1 had a spell queue so that I could pre-cast the next spell while I am waiting for one to finish its casting time. (Random comment du jour.)

That happens in MUDs quite often. Good luck with your leveling.

Sounds like something WB should pick up. Just another crappy reality sitcom.

I think I've seen some bad movies with a similar plot-- girl pretends to be guy, falls in love with a guy who is in love with a different girl and asks fake-guy-girl for dating advice... hilarity (supposedly) ensues.

Ya know, it's just not funny, and the synopsis is even less funny. :)

We had some odd shenanigans lately when the boyfriend of a well-loved player was playing the charcter on a trial account...

It was a player that rarely used voice and I had originally thought was a guy anyway (for all the difference it makes) - -

it says something that even before the voice got used almost everyone knew it was someone else.  Even without sound; people have such different voices.

To add insult to injury; the character was mid-level and the companions found themselves in over their heads for a 'friend' who not only turned out NOT to be; but also turned out to be a pretty poor player.  Where the normal player was chesslike in tactics and hmorous in chat; the boyfriend was arrogant and LEET; yet for all their assumption that they were good at the game; their 'zerg' tactics caused death after death.  I don't know what game this one is used to where magicians are bulletproof swordsmasters; but its been odd explaining to people why our friend doesn't know how to NOT die by mid-level...

On the plus side; I can now have the character in our parties without my girlfriend asking if its a girl...

* I guess this was still on my mind when  I came across a rather funny video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LdhzRv8ZyTY

In re-reading my last post I forgot to mention that the deaths in question were that of our "LEET" caster... whom was then only tolerated as a favor to his better half.

Kind of puts a spin on that whole BAGGAGE topic you had a while back.
