During the mid 21st century Earth was a burning husk of a planet, the exact reasons for why World War 3 were started were lost to the sand of time the instant the war started.
Humanity went from the masters of their planet to scavengers and thieves in a matter of weeks, over the course of 25 years small groups of people banded together and began to expand out, discovering forgotten technologies and knowledge.
Eventually Humanity recovered, a little bruised and very wary of its own mortality.
Throughout the world 4 Corporations that weathered the war took fledgling settlements under their wings and offered them safety, food and medical supplies. soon each Corportation had control over a portion of the earth.
The Alliance Corp had control over the USA, Canada, South America and Greenland.
The Europa Corp controlled Europe, Africa and Antarctica.
The Imperiya Corp controlled Russia and the Middle Eastern States.
The Hoshiko Corp had control over Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
By the end of the 23rd century Earth had reunified.
Technological and Scientific strives lead to Earths natural resources becoming dangerously low, the Corps spent a great deal of time trying to find a solution, eventually it was decided that the colonisation of space was the only option.
With the near unlimited resources of the solar system, mankind would survive indefiniatly outside of the reletive saftey of Earths protective shell.
In the Year 2320, it was decided that each Corp would becoming a trading Empire, taking up 2 of the 8 major planets each.
Europa Territory would extend to as close to the sun as possible to the edge of Venus's gravity well.
The Alliance took Earth and Mars as it promised to preserve the birth place of mankind.
Imperiya took the Gas giants, experts in gaseous formations they took advantage of their now massive homes.
And Finally the Hoshiko Empire had the daunting task of building a community in the outer reaches of the solar system.
