Honestly I've never understood "the grind" at least complaints about it .
Look at super mario bros very first one remember the old bop the turtle shell get a 100 lives and win the game trick? For those who don't ill just refresh you bop the turtle shell by jumping on it and rebounding it off a surface that caused it to ricochet back to you in effect grinding out points for 100 lives.
But one thing i always considered was going over the 100 lives you could but if you did you would go too high and it would game over you making you start from the start of the game. also it would penalize you in the japanese version by not allowing you into the 9 th world i think could be no warps but i think it was the snes that had that .
either way as the years went by i played several hundred more games. One game i always hated but played it anyways was phantasy star for the sega genesis oh man i hated that game i would never get very far in it since it was rather difficult at least for me anyway.
but games like that had a tremendous amount of what i always perceived was grind the meat and potatoes you know the actual game but that was what made the game fun final fantasy loved it ff7 eh it was ok final fantasy tactics eh liked shining force better chrono cross among others as the years have gone by and i have had a chance to play enough games i can finally say im ready for something new.
thats not to say i dont like my old games hell emulators are awesome but i have to admit playing games that have grind isnt the issue the fact that its the same old game new skin and in those games i got something of worth even if it was worth 1 cent it was something the grind has to even out honestly if i am not getting back what im expending out that's just wrong
i dont think i should feel like im working at a game i have payed for or am paying for.
i also think that the players pay for the developers paychecks and they should get their head out their asses and rethink the way they are acting.
and yes i know ive gone off into a rant but hell this is my blog so tough
am seeing way too many companies act like they can just put out any piece of garbage and call it a game and sell it for $50 Quite honestly id like to know if they are even looking at what is going on sometimes
and to be completely honest i think its sad that a game that is almost 20 years old is more interesting then a game thats been released in the past 5 years
and yes im being vague on purpose because there are alot of games i consider garbage and i have a feeling if i leave it vague ppl will come to their own conclusion
