It Not a simple task to make an MMO. in fact it's very complex and hard process. Odd thing is after waiting month's, today i got my hero engine license to make an MMO.
The very real and frightening part is i now have access to a million dollar chunk of software to make the dream game i envisioned.
So many things need to get done. i have the site ready ( well a basic one for now) and content creation and integration is my primary goal. that aside..
I have so much to do. and I'm a one man show right now. but this blog is now going to be about that journey. and it will also be about what this MMO will be as i develop my game.
Here is a list of the basic premise of my MMO. the "stuff" i have been planning for a long time, and will start to flesh out.
1. It will be an "MMO", but will also be a "FPS" it may even have some sci-fi elements in as well.
2. It will have guns armor for example an assault rifle & futuristic AK47's
3. It will be PVP primarily and PVE second.
4. It will have a space portion of the game, but technologies will only be about 70 years more advanced then we currently have.
5. It will also have PVP dungeons. a new concept i have been working on.
6 Battle Grounds with multiple objectives.
7. Classes will be numerous. I.E police/military/thugs/Mafia/terrorist/civilians/vigilantes/spy's
8. Housing is planned for the future. it will mainly be so that players can rent an apartment and can also run a apartment building as a slumlord.
9. Entertainers are a class as well. and players can be exotic dancers or rock/metal/punk musicians and drummers and or bass players. heavy metal based musical skills.
10. Since CS source mapping is something i do well. I will be basing many concepts from my years of map design in to battle grounds and PVP dungeons.
I have many ideas for the game, but as they say...Baby steps.
So I will be here next week to update this development blog. feed back on some of these ideas are very much appreciated. I'm not a large corporation and at best this will be a niche game.
