Let me first say this is long. im angy right now. u probably need to read anyway-
You see them everywhere you go. The people that blaze through four way stops, the jerks that cut in line at the movie theater, the morons that intentionally take up two parking spaces at the mall and the fools who thrash around their lives without a care for what impact they might have on others.
While everyone makes mistakes and, on a planet with six billion people, we're going to adversely affect those around us, some among us take it to a whole new level. They are either so negligent, or even malicious, that their acts are a conscious disregard for others. This goes beyond a lack of compassion or the absence of empathy and shuns all convictions and morals aside.
When you see these people, take a moment to look into their eyes. You'll see something truly unique. When you stare down into the pit of their souls, you'll see that they believe they're better than you. They seem themselves as a superior life form and yourself, along with those around you, are just insects waiting to be stomped.
With this form of imagined superiority comes a sense of entitlement, and that is where things go wrong. These people not only believe that they are better than the world, but that the world owes them something. Be it the color of their skin, the way they grew up, the money in their pocket or just something inside them, they feel that they are entitled to better treatment and they will take it if necessary.
That sense of entitlement is what leads to their downfall. Nature, as luck would have it, doesn't possess and entitlement clause. Those who think that they are owed something might be able to take it from time to time, but will never really be able to possess it. Those who believe they deserve something, for no other reason than who they are, are incapable of working for it and earning it.
And in there lies the bitter truth. All men are created equal, but they don't always stay that way. Some of us work hard, achieve great things and make something of our lives. Those who do that, for the most part at least, learn humility and invest themselves emotionally into ideas of justice and equality.
Others feel entitled; they do nothing, achieve nothing and, instead, leech off society. These are the ones who feel superior, the ones who achieve the least, offer nothing to the world and, instead, only flex their supposed superiority by taking that which does not belong to them.
In the end, it's their very sense of superiority that prevents them, not just from becoming better people, but from becoming anything at all. They can't plow the fields in the kingdom they believe themselves to rule, thus, they never make anything grow.
Their accomplishments are fantasies and society, let alone nature, will not favor these fools. They are doomed by their own delusions and will feel the wrath soon.
So when wronged in such a manner, try to let it go. If it was an honest mistake, it will not be repeated and, if it's someone taking what does not belong to them through a feeling of entitlement, they will feel their own demise soon enough.
For nature is cruel to those who don't earn their keep and nothing you can do will ever be able to compete with the very forces that keep evolution going.

They are obliviates. They are the stars in their own private movie and we are the extras. But to their defense, everything in their world has been telling them they are demigods. Their parents did it, the kid shows and cartoons taught it, and hell, even schoolteachers confirmed it. " you are special! "
If its any consolation, they are also generally depressed, angry, and terribly lonely. Karma dude, Karma.
Tue Dec 04 2007 11:38AM"Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy sh*! we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."
Tue Dec 04 2007 11:52AMSadly, this is so very true in so many ways. It's only going to get worse. I hate to fulfill a very bad stereotype, but kids these days aren't being raised properly. I'm only 23, not that far from a kid myself, but I definitely would not want to be 14 or 15 again in this day and age.
Parents need to smack some sense into their kids once in awhile to keep them honest. Just like some of these parents who feel like they're god's gift to the planet need some sense smacked into them occasionally as well.
Political correctness is the worst thing to happen to this society.
Tue Dec 04 2007 12:49PM"You are not special. You are not a unique and beautiful snowflake. You are the same decaying organic mass as everyone else. We are the all singing, all dancing crap of the world."
I agree Strayfe. My brother is actually writing his master's thesis on how society has completely screwed over an entire generation of men. Masculinity is now shunned, playful rough housing is now banned, everyone is rewarded for failing. Everyone get's gold stars and special treatment. We are so concerned with being nice nice to everyone, not realizing that we are neutering our selves.
There will always be bad people, psychopaths, killers, etc. There always has been, there always will be. No matter how much we try to "plastic wrap" our entire society, tragedies such as Columbine and Virginai Tech will still happen...
The answer is not to force everyone to play nice, to make everyone feel special and feel that they are #1. If anything, this wil make things even worse, because we will get so many more self-absorbed a$$hats.
In fact, we are so busy trying to make everyone feel special that we purposely avoid or look right past the serious psychological and emotional problems some kids have, and those kids will end up being the ones who grow up and make bombs.
Tue Dec 04 2007 1:17PMYou're fucked up in the mind. I think you should quit being such a loser and live your life.
Tue Dec 04 2007 3:03PMWhen I read your blog it reminded me of Hollywood celebrities and stars... and your saying is so true.
Tue Dec 04 2007 3:05PMYou can see all that when you look into a person's eyes? Are you The Shadow? Do you know the evil that lurks in the hearts of men? It seems like you're just angry and looking for reasons for people acting the way they do. You can't know a person's life, or their motivations, by just looking at them. If you think you can, maybe you should be out there fighting crime. Either that or taking some kind of medication.
Tue Dec 04 2007 3:27PMSee, look, exactly my point. People would rather come into this blog and troll it, writing flame posts attacking the author, HIDING behind their internet anonymity then add something constructive to the conversation.
It's the internet generation, they have become so spoiled by the protections offered in the technological medium...
They e-mail and IM and text instead of face to face conversation.. even phone conversation.. at least then, you can see the person's reaction, hear the way they say certain things, which can completely redefine the meaning. Instead they sit behind their computer screen and text messages to avoid having to see/hear something that will hurt them.
They throw insults on the interent without fear, but are meak and timid in real life. They've been told their whole life that they are special and unique, but they dont' realize that no one but their family/friends gives a flying F about them.
They are the people that become the @$$holes that do the things the OP describes.
Don't listen to their angry ravings hellsfear.
I'm 24, and I think we are JUST on the edge of the "failed" generation. We are the last to grow up with the ability to take responsibility in our actions and not having everything candy coated and spoon fed to us.
Tue Dec 04 2007 3:43PMExactly my point. You have someone making a ton of assumptions based on nothing but a few lines of text. Just as you can't know anything about a person from a momentary encounter, you can't know anything about them from a few lines of text. It might be easier or make you feel safe to put people in black or white boxes. You're on that side, I'm on this side. I act, think, and behave like my box dictates and you do the same for yous.
Fact of the matter is, you both have no idea what you're talking about.
Tue Dec 04 2007 4:00PMWhat goes around comes around. Sometimes it just takes longer for it to happen to some than it does to others.
It's fine to build sand castles in the sky... just don't try to move into any of them.
I'm pretty sure that each generation is a bit 'worse' than the generation before them... at least in America, that is. This is all going to be much worse before it gets any better, I'm afraid. Perhaps China or India running the world will put a spin on things?
I mean, I'm in my 30's... I'm pretty sure the people in their 40's must look at me and think the same things I think about people in their 20's and teens.... generally, nothing good.
And then... you have Barren's Chat in WoW. Go ahead and soak up the next generation right there.
Tue Dec 04 2007 5:53PMAkunai - you can tell a lot about a person based off of few lines of text.
Wed Dec 05 2007 10:43AMWell, I think people can get away with being NE without having any problems. The problems occur when more and more people follow suite. Humans are like sheep/cattle, if everyone starts looking out for number one, you'll be living in the underdark. Which is fine but pretty self destructive and probably not going to live for long. It's, for example, as if your cells, in your body, only look out for number one. You'd die and so would the society... just matter of time. I can think of a few games that had this happen to, it's bueatiful to watch.
Wed Dec 05 2007 12:54PMThey won't feel any wrath. This isn't "My name is earl" or the Christian Channel.
