Whatever happened to Lost Colony?

After struggling for months to acquire my coveted Lost Colony refund (and succeeding) I completely forgot about it, I just checked and it has issued blanket refunds to everyone but is still promising a 2009 release!?

As a bit of background, Planetside is a great MMOFPS but barely any development has occured since the last expansions several years ago. Lost Colony is an indie project to build a copy of Planetside from the group up, a quick look at the lore for both reveals even the colours are the same for the factions.

Now that Welkin 4591 is OB I can't see much interest returning to Lost Colony.

Old stuff, but i just saw this. Had to comment...

Well, Lost Colony was a sad story. There was just one guy making it, Andy Hodges.  He bought Torque Engine, nothing wrong with that overall, but it didn't work with big scale MMO's at that time (no idea if its works better these days). 128player limit and other stuff.

1.1.2007 was the first "release date".Then march, then summer...

Problem was that Andy didnt know anything about making games. He just bought 3rd party game engine, he bought 3d party models (even said in LC forums that he made them..) etc etc and tried to combine them to one pack.  Then he released plans for Xbox, Playstation and even for mobile versions, geez.

And i don't think that everyone got their money back. Poor people

Well, i didnt really care about that game. But i was kind of mad that Andy killed his Gameshout radio.

Thanks for clearing that up! It's a shame that he felt the need to lie about it, there were some other discrepencies that I experienced when receiving a refund but ill get them to myself :)
