So after spending 3 hours to get from level 7 to level 10, I have reached the ability to play the famed “Monster Play” portion of Lord of the Rings: Online.  But I will get to that in a later article.  This one will be for day two of playing my little emo-champion.  There really isn’t that much to say since last night in all honesty.  Quest, kill, return, get new quest, kill, return, so on, so forth.  Your average run of the mill grinder as it were.  I suppose the only difference is that the quests have become slightly more difficult and I have been forced to group with people if I want to complete some of them.  Which as I said last night, IS OBSCENLY ANNOYING.  I don’t mind people, most of the time, but most of the time people are so stupid that I am constantly amazed at the fact they were able to turn on their computer, let alone get into an online game.  This is going to be pretty short and sweet,  as like I said, not much has really changed… ONWARD! Admitting your bias against the community is interesting   It also shows how balanced your blog really is.

Why do you deem it necessary to compile your thoughts in a blog when they are presented barely on-par with the everyday postings on standard game forum?

Most of the post honestly isnt worth commenting on.  Its his opinion (although it seems that he has started the game knowing that he will hate it) and he's entitled to it.  And as blogging is in itself only a means of soapboxing your thoughts, well he can post what he wants right?

As to the inability to use the auction house on a trial being stupid, well this is one of the steps that Turbine has taken to prevent gold selling/spamming.  This and the inability for trial accounts to send tells has decreased gold spamming to the point that I will get a tell once every two months or so MAYBE.  Whereas before I was getting 20 in a ten minute time..and that was being optomistic :/

I wish more games would take these steps rather than doing the drastic thing (taking away game trials except by invite only)

It does seem as though he initiated the trial with the assumption that he would dislike the game.  Why complain about the 'grind'?  I have yet to play a game that doesn't have some kind of 'grind' factor.  In most games it is the quality of the storyline that sets them apart from others.  There is also the issue of being 'forced' to group in order to complete a quest.  It is a MMORPG.  Which means it is essentially based on community and group activity.  There are a few games in which you can bypass this, but the quest lines in most games are engineered to encourage it.  Honestly, I think that's to be expected from a MMORPG.

The immature part of MMO's is exactly why I joined theoldergamers.com They are in every MMO.

As for LOTRO, You need to realize this game has a rich story. Tons of details to the story in the world. It's a great MMORPG in the true sense. It is my PVE MMO

EVE of course is my PVP MMO
