Noted MMORPG designer and legend, Richard Garriot , known for Ultima Online (and now, Tabula Rasa) wants to make a lunar trip and is willing to spend $30 million for it.
Reuters reports that Garriot wants to follow in the footsteps of his dad, Owen Garriot - a former NASA astronaut who spent two months aboard the first U.S. space station 24 years ago.

Come back to earth richard and fix your game.

Sat Oct 06 2007 10:00PM ReportUhm, there is nothing about the moon in the Reuters article. It's just about his trip to the ISS.

Sun Oct 07 2007 11:04AM Report"The Vienna, Virginia-based firm Space Adventures announced on Friday that it had arranged a trip for Garriott, who is the company's largest investor as well as a noted computer game developer...
..."My income in the computer gaming industry superseded my dad's income as an astronaut while I was in high school," said Garriott, who developed the Ultima series and co-founded the North American subsidiary of Korea's NCsoft Corp, the world's largest online game developer and publisher."
Sounds like he had plenty from his single player games, well before UO. Also seeing that he's the largest investor for 'Space Adventures' leads me to think of dividends and/or other forms of returns on his investment.
Sun Oct 07 2007 1:39PM ReportI heard NC soft offered to pay for a one way ticket.
Sun Oct 07 2007 5:11PM Reporthehehe. What's with the moon? Google is offering also $30M for a project.
