Now being someone who heavily believes in the freedom of speech, when it comes to a certain game on these forums alot of people feel threatened by the things I have to say. I do not really care about their reactions or feeling towards my personal opinions, and if they hate them then tough sh**. The game im talking about is Darkfall Online.
Now at this point I could see about 20 people saying that i know nothing of the game so I shouldn't even try to write about it....but they are all dead wrong. I WAS a sort of fan back when it was announced, I joined the official forums (under a different name so no you wont find me), but i saw the light when all they did was make false announcements and string the fans along with their words. Now more than a few years later and nothing has really changed. Sure they just released a long boring video that contained a ton of scripted scenes, a 10 second showing of the lacking UI that they have, and a very outdated engine with even worse particle effects. I watched the hi res version of the video to see it in its true form....and before i hit play i begged it to prove me wrong...to make me even apologize for the words I have said in the past. But no....I was still right and the game didnt really change at all.
Now in the aftermath people are still crazy and fellow anti-supporters have given up and started to apologize. Seriously no offence but either they are weak, or just...yeah they are weak. So what if Tasos said a video was to appear in August 2008 and by some odd coincidence it came only days from September 1st. Thats 1 out of many things promised that was actually delievered.
As for the fans on this site that support this game. You can flame me, PM me (ya you know it Originalegg), call me names, throw vowels and syllibles at me...or even scarier....make total complete sentences with proper grammar *GASP!!!!* But you will never....NEVER...change my mind or make me apologize. No matter what i will continue to voice my opinion on DF and I will always carry the belief that it is not what the fans hope it to be. Please mark these words, because they will never change.
No one wants to change your mind. But when you try to change others minds on the DF forums, then yea, you will be met with harshness.
State your opinion, and thats that. But you attack the fans when they post good things about the game, and that is completely different.
You seem to really really hate this game, so why are you putting yourself through this? Just let it go and play a game you want to enjoy. You are really letting people get to you this much to type all this up plus what you do on the DF forums? And you call others weak?
Those "weak" people are anything but. Some of the people who apologized showed a lot of courage. They said the video would never come (some of them said this).
And then when the developers stayed up at the office until midnight their time to bring the fans the video that they promised on time, AND BETA, they gained a lot of respect amoung people.
No one ever lied to you about DF. You have never been promised anything. Yea beta failed in 03' so what. You should be THANKING them for puting the breaks on a bad game instead of going through with it. I wish they had done that with games like AoC and AC2 (random but yea i wanted this game to be good).
Maybe if you tried opening up your mind and listening to some people, you wouldnt be so bitter about things that are said.
You are entitled to your own opinion, DF isnt for everyone. But you are in the wrong when you try to convince all the fans that they shouldnt like this game.

I've been on the developing side of MMOs and it's far from easy. Graphics should be one of the last fucking things on someone's mind. Gameplay mechanics are the heart of a game. Those should be judged first.

Before the video he was all over the forum claiming it was not being developed and it would never see the light of day, and the fans listening to the developers were all delusional. Now that there is a lot of proof to discredit him, it is on to the graphics!

You do not have the right to make yourself look like a jacka$$ you did on the forums before now. You know why people are apolgizing, because people feel bad now that they have been trolling the forums bashing everything we feel is a step forward in the game. As for DF we'll see it in beta or when it comes out.
/laugh video says its still coming out in 2008 GL with that just started beta what? a week ago lol hopefully they still polish it more and fine tune the weapons and swings
Something to say beside the fact guys, are we really supposed to listen to someone that has a Full Metal Alchymist as there photo /cry in laughter
