The Angry Guild Leader

I'm the guild leader, and I'm pissed. Read what possibly goes on in your guild leader's mind. I shoot the truth, and I shoot it straight. If you can't handle it, then My Little Pony Online is taking beta applications.

Vanguard Subs continue to Rise Thanks to AOC & New Patches

We are seeing new faces in Vanguard every day. Most of these have left AOC, as our guild did, but they are coming from other places, as well.

Each day I recruit, and I am having to go through hundreds of new faces from the day before. Literally.

This is a great thing for a great game. It's about time.

SOE must be wondering what the hell is going on. Now is the time to see if they will do something with the new influx of money to improve the game and the staff. I know those left from Sigil must be grinning ear to ear.

The time is now Sony. This is the best MMORPG with the best potential. Put the money into this game, or lose your shot.

The continuing failure of AOC isn't the only reason subs are up. There are an army of fans now getting the word out, and Vanguard has really begun to pan out and a batch of new patches lately are really shaping things up nicely. You can read more about this on my previous blogs.

continuing failure of 1 month old AoC....  i see high on most servers at peak times... one server hits high on Vanguard after a year and its such a big occasion that people need to post on it... now i wish Vanguard all the best... but it makes me laugh to see the hypocrisy of this Vanguard - official huge flop by no mistake on release - vs AoC - 1 month succes so far... yeh it'll lose subscribers... they all do... nothing gets a 100% retention... and i dont see a buggy game holding out for over 500k on 2 month... doesn't make it a failure... yet...

Good luck to both games... and to the MMO industry... hope lessons can be learned by the mistakes everyone makes... probably not... anyway... im off to play Darkfall...........

Tweej, the news is that the server hit high because of AOC's failure. If you can't see this game failing, especially with the latest scandal of no servers today, then I wish you the best.  Age of Conan IS Vangaurd a year ago. Released too early, doesn't work. Crafting doesn't work, servers don't work, sieging doesn't work, pvp doesn't work so they keep nerfing, and instances and raids are all tank and spank. I could go on, but I am wasting my time. AOC = Fail.

Well, what I know Vanguard was 100x disaster at launch compared to AoC. So is kind of fun to hear TODAY ... »oh, I'm leaving AoC for Vanguard ....«.

I'm one of those players that for sure do not plan at all to migrate from AoC to Vanguard. I will however go back to WoW with Lich King.

AoC has many problems, but I'm ok with that because good things for me outweigh bad things, despite I was pretty disappointed at the start.

However it is true that I look at every game (like I think majority of regular players) from PvE and mainly solo perspective. I have now demo 40, necro 34 and rest of possible alts between 20 and 26. And having a lot of fun. Before I get over 50 with any of my alts they will hopefully fix many things.

But there are many new mmorpg's coming this year so I will see.
