I ran across a forum post recently asking about information on Guild Wars 2. As an avid Guild Wars player, I have been eagerly awaiting GW2's upcoming release and have kept up with official announcements and news. Everything you wanna know bout GW2 that has beenj officially announced to date
No there will be no subscriptionj fee..its already been officially announced months ago..the storyline synopsis is out as well. If you wanna preview of what some of the dragons look like...the sleepign forms of a 3 of them can be found in Eye of the North. And at the finaly battle in Eye of the North you see the sleeping form of one of the baddest of the ancient dragons awaken just as the cinematic goes dark.

Hope this information answers your questions

IMO... aion IS guild wars 2... it has similar art style / models / animations / spell graphics...
Thu Feb 05 2009 1:06PM Reportaion is nothing like GW2, GW2 is like GW just upgraded, its a very casual game, if you want to compare aion to something then compare it the Lineage2, those are alot closer together and made by the same company.
Thu Feb 05 2009 4:28PM ReportIt would probably be a lot better if you made links out of your URLs rather than expecting people to copy and paste them.
And no, Aion is not Guild Wars 2. Aion isn't remotely similar to Guild Wars. Aion mostly does the usual WoW-clone stuff, while Guild Wars tries to get away from it: map travel, eight skills on a bar cap, most content assumes the player is at the level cap with essentially perfect gear, very heavy instancing, henchmen/heroes, etc.
Thu Feb 05 2009 9:31PM ReportGW is not a "casual game." GW is a pvp game with a thick pve candy coating.
Thu Feb 05 2009 10:03PM ReportWhether or not it's a "pvp game", it has better PvE than any other MMORPG I've seen.
Fri Feb 06 2009 8:12AM ReportAion is not GW2..it isnt even remotely close to the GW concept. Its related more to a cross between WoW, EQ2 and Pefect World to be honest.
As far as GW being a pvp game..it is both a pvp and a pve game. PVP aspect is separate from the PVE. You can buy a version of GW that is just pvp that is true..but the main game is both. I personalyl am not a huge fan of pvp..so I stick to the pve side of things. I do occasionally take my pve character (you can at level 20) into pvp guild or aliance battles but its rare that I do.
And yeah I probably should have changed the urls to links. I was having some problems with teh forums yesterday when i posted. I may go back at another time and tinker with it when I have more information to post up.
Bit of trivia for you all..this is taken from wiki...
ArenaNet was founded in 2000 by Mike O'Brien, Patrick Wyatt and Jeff Strain. All three of them came from Blizzard Entertainment and were previously involved in the development of multiplayer online games such as Warcraft, Diablo, Starcraft, World of Warcraft and the Battle.net gaming network.
Note: The new offspring business was originally called "Triforge", but changed name to "ArenaNet" shortly after.
ArenaNet was acquired by NCsoft in 200
If you play GW you will see homages to not only WoW's Legendary Leroy Jenkins Video (in GW he is Kilroy Stonekin and still rushes headlong into everything) but you will also see tributes to Star Wars,Indiana Jones, The Matrix, Hellrasier, Pulp fiction, Lord of the Rings and numerous Kung Fu Theater movies.
hmm I should really add trivia to my blog LOL
