So I've been a little quieter than usual, that's because I was busy playing HKO! I haven't been putting up too many diary entries myself, but ripple did a great job already! It's a great deal of fun (and entertainment).

They also announced today something different for an MMO, I wonder how this is going to work out? The themes inside HKO already point to various cities, with London, Paris etc. all already in the map, and now players in the founders beta are asked to contribute towards building New York!? The blog post says the following:

Hello Kitty Online is proud to announce its largest in-game event yet: the building of New York City! Starting October 17, 2008, players of the Hello Kitty Online Founders’ Beta will be able to participate in a series of quests to collect and organize materials for the building of New York, a new area that will appear in the next phase of the game.

Players who successfully complete all the required quests will have the names of their character permanently recorded on virtual commemorative plaques located throughout the new area (the plaques will appear in future versions of the game’s North American edition). It’s a unique opportunity to leave your mark on Hello Kitty Online!

so its mindless grind quests...then in a "future" update they are just gunna add NYC HKO style anyways?

so you grind quests, but dont actually build anything, and the materials (if any) wont matter because its just a free update.

lol

you sure about that? sounds interesting if it was like a sim city type of thing unless you think that's a grind too

Because of the enthusiasm shown by bbegirl, I gave HKO a try.

I now feel dirty because of the frighteningly clean fun I have in that girly pink world.

LOL.....I'm sort of embarrassed to admit....that the short while I've played it so far....I've had fun too!  I WILL say...the community is a much nicer (and older) group of people than I expected.  I think there's some misconception that it's all 6-10 year olds or all dirty old men.  I've found it's mostly moms and their daughters, and well...just a lot of moms!  LOL

Totally agree, the game is nice and fun, totally clean yet fun. The average player also is not just so much nicer, I can actually have intelligent conversations!

It's the thing to do after a hard game's night!
