Welcome Back,

Ok well I got bored today and decided to download and try Magic World Online. Heres What I thought of MWO from ease of download to the first 15 minutes of gameplay.

  •  The ease of download I would not consider that great. First of all it takes ages to download (keep in mind it is 2.3gigs). My first completion of downloading the game ended in failure after spending 2-3 hours the installion files turned out to be corupted. So I was determined to get it today and redownloaded it. The second time was the charm.(Now if you download from gamershell supposedly it is faster, I downloaded from the suggested  link and also to say this in no way MWOs fault ,but they might want to put a link to the download on gamershell)
  • Installation was fairly easy. The patching process ,which generaly has problems in other games worked just perfectly.
  •  Next was the character creation process. This process was fairly easy ,but not to customizable. This is not a huge deal ,however I would like to see more options in the final release.
  •  After selecting the archer class I started out on my adventure. Now unlike other games there was not alot of beginner introduction. This was not a big deal because I have played many games much like this one. I would like to recommened that they add some more beginner quests and training though.
  • Now after talking to the beginning npc ,who by the way really is not much help. I went exploring. After walking oh like 10 seconds I encountered tons and tons of players ,which by the way was really encouraging to see. Also the MWO's graphics were fairly decent; I personaly really liked the artwork.
  • The last thing I did was ventured outside the city and trained for about 5-10minutes and got to level 5 which was pretty nice. The combat system was pretty cool nothing extremely different.

I would recommend this game to any fan of fantasy mmorpgs.

The final rating I would give this game is 7/10 (after reading and considering some different views I decided that the original rating I gave was wrong and the download had to much influence ,while the gameplay had to little and I apoligize for that mistake)

Happy Gaming!

How would you suggest they make the download easier?
After all 2.3 gigs is gonna take a while regardless and corrupted files is just something that happens once in a while.
So it seems you pulled the score down for the one thing that really isn't in MWO's hands to change while letting the things you thought could be done better have no weigh on the score (like the lack of customization and the lack of help to getting started)

This link; offered on the website as a direct from server download, has a speed of 300-500 kb/s on the US 200 Mb/s server. That's roughly an hour to two hour download. I do not think this is extraordinarily long; or much of a problem; as there are much worse scenario's for a download.

And I agree with TheKandy...if it had so many problems, why give it a 9/10?

And...in most games, you can run away from a monster. Infact; in pretty much all MMORPG's, you can disengage and flee.
