So i was thinking about Final Fantasy 8 recently i know what your all thinking..... Final Fantasy 8 that was the worst one..... But i think it was one of those you either love it or hate it type games i personally loved it. I also think it could be a very cool mmorpg, I figured i would just put some ideas about how i envisioned this game.
For starters i think it could start of exactly how it started in the game obviously not visually but the whole SEED test qualifications ect... Basically when you are creating your character you just pick the class you want to be. The side your fighting for is determined by the initial seed test, you pass you're one of the good guys you fail you join the Galbadian Army or (Seifer's side). Depending on how good/bad you do on the test will give you a rank and salary. I haven't really thought about how the whole salary/rank system works but i think it has potential to do more than having rank just determine salary. There might be a way to even have a third option by just totally abandoning the test and becoming basically a shady black market type character where you can work for bad or good and your not dedicated to either side an opportunist type.
I think this game would have a lot of features that it could be built upon and defined by. Plus i would love for it to be made on the new graphic engines i only gave a few ideas but any feedback would be good.
As a Final Fantasy game it was the worst as a game in general it was good. Just not what a FF fan would expect.

Wed Apr 23 2008 8:33AM ReportFF8 was one of the better games i think as playing all of them in the series. I especially like Seed and the use of new summons in the game. But playing ffxi for a few years , i really doubt square will invest on a totally new platform,11 seems to be working well for them so far, even though i would have liked to see better in-game graphics like their playstation games reflect. But they are limited to reducing the graphics so that most people can play witout having to buy the latest pc's and parts & not too many effects that will cause larger server lags. I think FF8 MMO would be great idea, but i dont see it happening. If anything , you will see more expansions for 11 released.
Wed Apr 23 2008 9:32AM ReportI would be totally against this - what Squeenx has has done to Final Fantasy VII is nothing short of a tragedy. I'm personally glad of the love or hate relationship everyone has with FFVIII as it makes it much to shaky a ground for them to release Final Fantasy VIII: Dirge of Galbadia or whatever travesty of a spinoff they would pull from their apparently dwindling supply of ideas for FF games.

Despite personal likes and dislikes, I think the majority of the FF community will agree that FF7 is and will always be the greatest FF storyline ever written, regardless of which game you play from the FF7 series.
For those who don't know, every final fantasy game (ie FF1, FF2, FF7, FF10) are individual stories that although may share many of the same things (characters, etc) are infact entirely seperate stories with different beginnings middles and endings.
Example: FF7 Cloud was in soldier during lets make up a date, march 13th 2008, well FF8 cloud could've been a bum on a street corner march 13th 2008
Personally I think if any FF series should be made into a legitimate MMO, it should be the FFVII series. It seems to me that the FF7 story is incredibly more indepth and well-thought out as opposed to the other FF stories such as 8, 9, 10, and 12.
Not to mention the FF7 series has more games/movies explaining different parts of the story than any other FF series, possibly even combined!
The idea for an FF8 mmo is a pretty good one, it all just depends if the creator of FF decides he wants the FF8 story to be told more indepth and openly explorable. Something tells me that won't ever happen though.
