One of the things about Age of Wushu that is very complex is the fighting system. You actually need to know what each move does as the fighting system is quite strategic.
This post will help you get to grips with it faster.
The easiest way to think about the Age of Wushu combat system is like Rock, scissors, and stone where you will be countering moves with a move that will “win”.
You have blocking and parrying – these moves differ as blocking will just block a blow and you will take less damage. You will still take damage blocking but not as much.
Parrying will allow you to defend and you might get parry effects that will allow you to reflect the damage back to the enemy.
Feints will allow you to open up someone blocks or parries. For instance if someone is blocking all of the time and parrying a feint can disrupt them and open them up for an attack.
Then of course you have the standard attacks that you will use most often.
Another combat skill you need to keep in mind is RAGE moves – you will see your anger bar fill up in the top left with every successful block and then when it is ready you can release a devastating Rage move!
For a quick reference here is when you should use the moves
Block > Feint
Parry > Feint > Attack
It sounds complicated but as you get better at the game you will get used to it and be able to unleash huge combos!
