...There is one in every MMO I play - A guy who's liked and respected by all, and always has a word of advice or a helping hand to anyone who asks. He has no enemies and although is one of the best players, is not snobby at all. Dependable, trustworthy.
There is Ferrell in Anarchy Online. He is almost legendary in the froob community and maybe even in the paying community as well. Always pleasant, caring. An expert on many aspects of the game. He is one of the reasons Newcomers' Alliance is what it is today.
There is Quinton in A Tale in the Desert. He founded the well-known Quinton's Resource Center (accessible by all) in Desert of Shades, a region that he felt needed more residents and research (it's one of the emptier regions in ATITD). He's always helpful and just wonderful.
Then there is Tom Aquinus in Runescape. Although even though he's diplomatic and helpful, he prefers to help the older players. He's one of the few players who have reached the level limit and everywhere he goes someone stops him to ask for some advice. He's wise, caring and tactful. A person to be admired.
And my friend Ruf Surface in Second Life. He usually works on creating products and selling them, but he's always there for a friendly chat or some advice.
I wish I could say the same for my own sex...

In Lord of the Rings online I know a woman by the name of Kirace. She is the mother of the guild Im in and one of the most respectable people Ive met in games.
Then theres Sweet Pea from The Realm. Im not sure if she is still around but she and her mother literally guided thousands of people into the genre of Mmorpgs.
Another fine example of a person is Red. Red is one of the most wise and altruistic individuals I ever met. A master engineer in Eve he gave me several ships to start out with. The practically helped me build a alliance of miners in a matter of days. Sigh, I miss Eve.
There are many others I know like this but I love this blog post!

Umm... to be honest i have a few "friends" in a few MMO's i play in. But in Perfect World BareClare was a good friend of mine. He helped me get through a bunch of my harder quests.
Mostly lately though... i've been trying newer servers for RO cause... it's new and usually the people that play em are funny and fun to be around. Currently... i believe AkinaRO is still up, like 30+ people but about 25 of them are really nice and just fun all around.
Zu Online i used to play with EsP SuN or something to that effect and Spritez if i remember right...both were really nice as long as you didn't get on Spritez side and EsP was just halarious and fun to be around.
But to be honest... i try to distance myself from the populations of most MMO's because A) I don't exactly "trust" the people and B)when i'm around people who do nothing but 1337 speak it makes me feel retarded ever more each time i try to read it and C) i don't exactly feel right... me coming mostly from a background of MUD's and stuff.
oh and Violette, my offer is still open about showing you the ropes in Aetolia if you ever want to :P

Considering a large amount of people in mmos are stupid and annoying, people who are nice to them for no reason and actually give them stuff annoy me.
Nakirum in WoW. he was a wise and very nice guild member who took care of everyone in the guild.
cant really say much for the other MMO's as i tend not to end up in guilds or find the decent people anymore
