Lately my thoughts have been leaning towards the next SOE Fan Faire. Because I work at a fansite, we have some inside info of where this year's Faire will most likely be, letting me able to price things out and make plans before any official announcement.
This will be my first Fan Faire and I am freakin' excited! For me, is it definatly a vacation. I don't live in the US, but I love visiting whenever I can. This will be no exception. A group of four of us are planning to go and be the biggest geeks we can be.
I mean, come on, how can one not go to a Fan Faire or Blizzcon and NOT let your geeky side reign free. I want to meet other players and guildmates. Be able to talk to anyone about these games and not be looked at like I'm crazy.
*dances with excitement*
What about you? Do you go to the conference for your game?

I go to a general SF&F conference (see www.CONvergence-con.org) and there's not only games, but books, movies, Anime, all sorts of fans of various geek types. So I usually get to spend some time geekin' out to all my hobbies (addictions?). I've gone to GENCON a couple of times, but I felt pretty lost there, it's just so big. So now, smaller conference with more people I know and hang out with.

They have poll up over at the Station for people to vote on the location. That includes the location / date / cost per night.

Actually, my kids loved playing Toontown for a while too. That would probably make Disney the big a thrill-fan convention as any other, and be a blast for them.
