Just a quick reminder to those of you that may or may not be aware of this, but at 12 midnight, Pacific time is the cut-off to be able to get your ship with LTI(life time insurance) for the game Star Citizen.   So if you have been sitting on the fence about making a donation to Chris Roberts game company, Cloud Imperium Games, and the development of the game Star Citizen - now might be the best time to do it.   Here is a link to the page with all the various offers and cost.

Star Citizen LTI Ships and Packages

This however is not the only and last way to get an LTI based ship or package.   Good news is that if you have a family member or friend that has all ready pledged and or donated to the game prior to the cut-off of midnight tonight - they can purchase an LTI ship or Pledge Package and gift it to you.   So if you are in a pinch, there is always a way to still get that life-time insurance. (This will be in effect until Nov 2013).

It is not often that I would do something like promote a game in such a manner, but as a gamer that is tired of poorly made, closed end games, I do not feel bad about it this time - in fact I am a little excited.   The game is really starting to take shape and the community is one of the best I have come across for a game before.   So if you are a fan of sandbox, open ended games, maybe you need to take a good long look at what Star Citizen will have to offer.

Just as a ship needs love to keep her flying, a game company needs funds to make and operate games.   So with that in mind - fly safe and may the second star to the right never misguide you.  o/

I went ahead and got an Origin explorer.  I'm trusting you on this T!  If this game is (another) bomb I'll bury you in my Internet Rage Wrath!!!1!

Seriously, this look like a lot of fun if CR pulls it off.  Between this, Pathfinder, and EQNext, I can hope *one* of those hits the jackpot.  I think I can enjoy FF14 for a while but that could hit the Wall of No More fairly quickly as the last of the Themepark generation. I'm not sold on the has-to-be PvP call for successful next-gen games, but I want something BETTER than what we are getting.  I'll pew-pew if that's the price of admission.

I am excited about this game too but I am very much against giving benefits to players because they open their wallets and "donate" money to the developers.

Pure cosmetical benefits, maybe, but life time insurance and ships? No, that is way crossing the border and gives the impression that this game will be a Pay to Win cash shop heavy game.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't. All these new games are becoming P2W, even big publisher games STO, SWTOR, RIFT. You donate money you get super extra benefits.

THE END
