Since I have not yet offered anything constructive towards MMORPG's, here is some things I think a lot of MMORPG's are failing at that could make the game better.

Free to play games like 9 Dragons, Kal Online, Conquer, and Atlantica, ECT. from my experience has a terrible communication system. That and the fact that a lot of the players are either a) young b) foriegn or c) botters ect.

I think free to play games need to take a look more at grouping systems, more detail to guilds. I LOVED 9 Dragons it was really cool. The unique combat was nice. But the guilds simply had a chat channel, no who's online function and there isnt much in ways of grouping in the early levels. As with most of the F2P games i've tried. I felt foriegn in that game, I could not talk easily to other people and got lost in the point of the game by level 40.

Simply put, these games need to be designed with more focus on how easy it is to chat and socialize and make it worth grouping from an early point on. World of Warcraft, EQ, Asheron's Call, ect. Most of the successful Pay to Play games have a much more in depth communication part of the game and guild system.

I think these games have a decent enough graphic engine, and the combat systems are somewhat cool. Maybe if they even had some sort of teamspeak or vent built into the game, much like WoW has even though it sucks and no one uses it. It may be more interesting.

Another thing I notice is the money grubbing on these games. Look we all know you sell items, exp, ect for money but dont rub it in our faces 24-7. You have to understand that if we DO pay you we want to forget it about it until we NEED  to pay you again. A lot of these games are over the top and annoying. Like when I downloaded Atlantica. I noticed somehow my homepage got switched to their site. I was annoyed to the point of almost immediately un-installing the game.

Do you think any self respecting game like the major leagues would just switch people's homepages around? They didn't ask. I pick up on that right away.

How about having a MMORPG that is F2P with some awesome customer support, like phone numbers, email addresses and people who speak english. Too many of these games are all foriegn run and completely overstep the customer for all other means than taking their money.

The last thing I notice about a lot of these free games is they either A) Use the mouse to move. ROFL. or B) Have laggy systems. Its not my PC, trust me. I have a nice PC. 9 Dragons was guilty of this also. Its just slow moving around and a little laggy at times. Imagine if a ton of people actually played these games. Atlantica also struck me as floaty and laggy moving around. You dont see that in major games like WoW, Ect. You move freely. I find myself often frustrating myself visualizing the character moving faster than it really is, only to be disappointed.

Trust me, im the expert consumer. I can tell if a MMORPG is complete garbage within 24 hours.

SO ALL YOU FREE TO PLAY MMORPGS:

1) Make it more english friendly, group friendly, and communication better.

2) STOP BOMBARDING US WITH ADS, pop them up every once and a while and have it listed on your site ONCE, not 37 times.

3) Dont abuse our homepages, put in a virus or tons of spyware.

4) Better customer support will go a lon way.

5) Speed up the game, us real gamers cant keep our mind that slow.

I think if a F2P game had some of these things, people would stick around. Like I said, the #1 THING about a MMORPG is hey. Can I make friends? Can I communicate to them well? Can I establish a relationship? Does this game take care of me? That's what makes us stay. Not always graphics.

they are F2P for a reason. With out much prediction to what share of the market they will get, and what share of that will even pay for items and boosts etc, its hard to project their possible income and therefore fund a decent development.

I am really surprised to see that MMO has not taken on board massive advertisements in games. Such as tournament sponsorships, Guild sponsorships, advertisements in Cities for big international brand names (imagine seeing coca cola everywhere, u will be well thirsty :) )

I would be okay with such advertisements, ect. If they took into consideration those 5 things. ANOTHER thing I notice is the free games also blurr everythin. Put a mist or blurr edge on all the game items ect. So it doesnt look so crpapy but it doesnt give you that in game feel.

You can advertise IG: on cities and crap if your customer support and you dont have ads POPPING UP during gameplay hindering yoru ability: IE: 9 Drag.

Keep in mind, I bet Maple Story and a few other F2P games make more money than some P2P MMO's I know people who've spent 30-40$ a month on items, thats 3-4 customers. Just because they want an item that only lasts 30 days. Thats nother thing I dont like. I think if you pay cash the item should last longer. Atleast 6 Months.

You skirted around the real issue in your discussion.  It's all about money.  They don't care about whether the game is fun or easy to use for people as long as they make money.  They especially could care less about the players who don't buy anything.  It's a company just like Coca-Cola or MacDonald's.  Do you think that these companies care whether you become obese or diabetic?  No, they don't.  As long as you buy their product, they will only pretend to care about you.

Very much agreed with dcostello.

Also, I think the reason for the lack of customer/developer support for F2P games in NA/SA/EU is because of their lack of regional familiarity. Simply put, almost every single F2P MMO is made in Korea, not here. Hence the extremely ignorant lack of effective communication with the devs.

Hi guys, i would like to inform you about this new text based mmorpg. It's text based, so don't expect a good graphics. It can be played everywhere, no installation needed. This game makes me addicted lol :D
well, here is the site : www.conra.cn
Conra is a text-based massive multiplayer RPG game, which takes place on a planet named Conra.
Conra, planet located at The Canis Major Dwarf galaxy, and is now thought to be the closest neighbouring galaxy to our location in Milky Way. Being located about 25,000 light-years away from our solar system. Although relatively close to the earth, The Canis Major Dwarf galaxy was difficult to detect as it is located behind the plane of the Milky Way, where concentrations of stars, gas, and dust are densest. Thats why we never heard anything about Conra.
Set in the Conra planet, the game is all about status, money and respect. Players get rank points by doing crimes, stealing hovercrafts and busting friends out of prison. You can even run your own gangs, robbing peoples and holding up hovercrafts on quiet roads. As you delve deeper into the dark Conra world, many players find other business opportunities, such as buying shares, reselling illegal items and even drug dealing.
New game players start in a city of Midworld, where the Cornus has got a large influence even now. Cornus try their luck with a wide range of slot machines, lottery, or 50/50 game.
In a deadly and sometimes cruel world it helps to have allies, both for protection and shared wealth. Many game players have set up gangs, who will look out for each other until the very end. Gangs are rich, powerful and can run whole neighbourhoods of a city, so you may want to keep on their good side. As you would imagine, they aren't too happy if another player or rival gangs shoots one of their guys.
For those more cautious game players there are other forms of protection, cool weapons, even bulletproof suits. So think you're up to the challenge? Join the game, everything is free and if you're good enough, grow strong and most importantly, stay alive, we may just be looking at the next The Best Cornus!

see ya there
