Spotlight – The Nightmare Carnival

The Nightmare Carnival is a fun, fast instance that you can start taking part in at a very early level.  With rewards including tradable coins, experience, and the opportunity for titles and other prizes, running this instance is well worth the time!

To begin, you need to queue up for this instance through the event window ("U" key).  Once a party is assembled for you (or you enter with your own pre-made group), you will be automatically teleported to the starting room of the Nightmare Carnival.

Enter the teleporter once everyone is ready to begin your first challenge.  The first challenge room will have you facing up against a long hallway full of poisonous gas.  The objective of this room is to simply cross the room without being killed.  To defeat this challenge, watch for the roaming blue ring of healing energy.  Step into the ring when it's close enough, and follow its movements til you reach the other side.

Remember to accept the rewards for completing this section by speaking to the goblin near the teleporter to the next room!

The second room will have you playing a game of Simon Says with a goblin director.  This part can be tricky, so pay close attention to what the director says, and be sure to follow his instructions!  For example, the director may say to do exactly what he says, and to attack the number 2 straw man.  Therefore, replicating his actions will result in a success.  Another example is if he says to NOT do what he does, and when he tells you to attack the number 2 strawman, you would attack either strawman 1 or 3.

After a few rounds of this involving different party members, you will pass the challenge and gain entrance to room 3.  As always, remember to accept your rewards from the goblin before entering the teleporter to the next room!

Room 3 contains the trickiest challenge yet.  In front of you you will see two glowing rings.  These rings will serve as weight platforms, upon which you must match the weights shouted out to you by the nearby goblin director.  Stonemen count as a weight of 3, regular sized people count as 2, and dwarves count as 1.  There will also be a random number of hobgoblins that spawn on the weight platforms as well.  These hobgoblins count as a weight of 1.

The objective here will be to match the weight told to you by the director.  For example, the director may say "SEVEN!"  At this point, you must arrange your party members to create a weight of 7 on both of the rings.  You can do this by leaving or killing off excess hobgoblins, and shuffling around your party members to reach the required weight.  Successfully completing this challenge 10 times will grant you access to the final room.  REMEMBER YOUR REWARDS!

The final room is a free for all challenge.  You will be given five minutes after a brief introduction to run around the room you are to gather antique items laying around.  The more items you collect, the more rewards you will get!  This room also has various titles up for grabs, depending on how well you perform.

Several things that will attempt to hinder your progress in this challenge are fireflies that spawn throughout the room, a roaming director that will stop you from collecting, and even your own party members!  You can kill off the fireflies to keep them from interrupting your gathering, evade the director by running away from him, and yell at your party members in all caps for stealing your antiques to knock it off.  Any of these strategies will see to it that your rewards are great, and your titles glorious!

After completing the final challenge, turn in all of your antiques to collect your final reward.  Teleport out of the dungeon, and you're done!  At this point, you can turn in some of your tokens for tradeable currency from the nearby NPC.  Or, you can save your tokens to trade in for several great items, including fortification crystals and even pieces of equipment.

As a repeatable instance, the Nightmare Carnival is definitely a great way to get some good experience and money.  Run it whenever you can, and you'll find that you'll eventually be really good at playing Simon Says - and more importantly, you'll be able to cross hallways filled with a poisonous gas that kills you within seconds.  Have fun!

PvP System – Soul Shattering

When it comes to PvP in Forsaken World, the name of the game is being the one to take the initiative!

Starting at level 30, any player can activate the Awaken Wrath option that is automatically granted to them.  This will give you a sharp boost to your fighting ability when targeting other players, but will also leave your soul vulnerable to direct attacks.

When struck in this mode, you have a chance to scatter Soul Orbs around the battlefield.  The objective at this point is to gather these orbs before your enemy does.  Once you gather enough, your power will go through the roof, and depending on your mood, you can at this point either crush and/or smash anything in your way.

Remember that both you and your target have the potential to drop these Soul Orbs, so stay mobile, control your opponents movement's with snares or other movement restricting abilities, and get to those orbs before anyone else does.  This is the keystone for a successful PvP battle.

Keep in mind that although you can attack anyone above level 30, there are penalties involved for engaging in ruthless killing sprees.  The more "innocenents" that you kill (people with a white name), the more infamy you will generate - which results in your name turning into ever darkening shades of red.  At this point, you are in danger of dropping unbound items from your inventory upon death, as well as losing maximum durability on your items.

The PvP system for Forsaken World involves an ever changing battlefield, with movement and initiative taking key roles.  There are plans to expand upon the PvP system in several exciting ways in the future, so keep an eye out for news and updates as they are posted!

Occupations on Forsaken World are a great opportunity to both craft useful things for your character, as well as make a good amount of money on the side!

You can craft your own potions and food, learn how to fish, become an adept socialite that gains access to hidden quests, see the future through the use of astrology, and even craft your own weapons and armor!

Overall, there are a total of 14 occupations available to any character.  Several of these are automatically acquired through leveling up, with the remainder being occupations that you must pick and choose yourself.  Occupations that are available automatically will say so on their information popup.

In order to learn occupations that are not automatically unlocked, you must first gain Job Points by completing the main quest line sections.  Completing a main quest line section will grant you one job point, at which point you are able to unlock an occupation of your choice.

Carefully planning how you spend your job points will help you out immensely in the future!  Ultimately, you will not be able to take every single profession available.  Make sure you choose the professions that you are most interested in, and also the ones that you feel will be most helpful for your class or playstyle.

The occupation system is just one of many different ways for Forsaken World characters to customize their abilities in a unique way.  Team up with your friends to make sure that no base is left uncovered!

It's possible to progress your character in a variety of ways in Forsaken World.  However, participating in events and doing quests can reward you with more than just experience!

Forsaken World is home to a system of events that occur on a daily basis.  You can view the rotation of these events by hitting the "U" key while in-game.  This will bring up a menu that shows which events is currently active, as well as a schedule of all upcoming events for the day.  Plan ahead, and you can easily make it to every one!

Besides events, quests are a constant option available to players wishing to keep up in their character levels.  You can find any quest currently available to you by opening your quest menu with the "Q" key, and then clicking on the "find quest" button in the upper left hand corner.

Select from the list which quest you'd like to begin, and then auto path to the corresponding NPC that is listed at the bottom of the quest description.  You'll run straight to the NPC, where you can then begin the quest.  With this system, you should never be confused about where to go or what to do next - because it's all mapped out for you in advance!

Don't worry if you miss events or quests, because you'll easily be able to do them later - sometimes even during the same day!  Make good use of the event calendar by using the "U" key, as well as the available quest list, and you'll be hitting the level cap in no time.
